So...where was the gameplay? I mean that was all CGI.

One of my favorite franchises this gen...the 2nd is better than the first but the 1st is a great game too. I still play then both as the are two of the best XBLA games in the marketplace.
The season pass with Geow 3 has to the best DLC deal yet. Just look at all they have given since launch for 30 dollars. On top of the new DLC Forces of Nature next month (Raven Down FTW!!!). If your gonna do DLC this, IMO, is the model to follow. It's fair and I don't feel robbed at all...it's the DLC that keeps on giving.
Mass Effect 1 was good, after 2 I lost interest and this one isn't even going on my GameFly.
Damn what she talking about, Raven Down is one of my faves and it's about time they gave it to us. I'd like to see more old Gears 1 maps like Garden, Mansion, and War Machine!!
Games like this make Gamefly a godsend...
If I could change one thing about this game it would be enemy types. The world is big enough to support multiple types of species and I think the devs could of added a bit more variety. Some areas feel lifeless and I would of liked a world teeming with mystic and powerful creatures. Hopefully the sequel will offer us more. Other than that I love this game and it's well worth the time and money??

If this isn't a RPG then what is it? Why does Capcom want people to think otherwise, I mean, it has all of the fundamental and tradition elements that ALL RPGs have.
I guess Asura's Wrath isn't really an action game either, whatever, I'm getting this.
Amalur is far from perfect but it is a great start to a franchise that I and my wife plan on wasting mad hours exploring.
I have to respectfully disagree with your combat complaints. Timing and strategy all play a role combat. Button mashing will get you hit from "every side" from my experience, you have to block and dodge just as much as you attack.
Every attack animation can be canceled to block or dodge after the third strike of your combo. on the 4th strike, the finishing move, you are committed to that animation and cannot cancel out. That's reasonable to me. Magic is the sam...
So true, especially combat. This game makes you feel like a badass in every sense of the word.
Changing class is one of the unique characteristics of this game. Exploring multiple destinies makes for an insane number of ways to do battle and showcase your power. You really should PLAY this game and try to ignore the misconceptions...just sayin'
yeah right....a 6 really?? This game is a least a 9...I'm over 10 hrs in and it's only getting better as I go on.
My favorite weapons too so far. My wife is starting the game tonight, she just finished TorchLight and wants Amalur to be her next conquest!!
This game is way to awesome for any RPG fan to pass up. I hope the people who are making rash decisions about this really sit down and give it a shot. If you like responsive, over the top action and a great story (IMO) then hop into the Well of Souls and take control of your fate and destiny!!!

Same here...whoever buys anything based on another person opinion is a just plain stupid. Skyrim got so much praise and it has been broken since it shipped. Whatever, I can't wait to pick this up in a few hours!!
I never played the first outside of the demo but I have the second and it's in regular rotation. Good game with lots of replay value.
