Wow, it looks great on PC, consoles will be jaggy.
Give PS3 40 at least, it can do it.
A lot of people are going to have buyers remorse. The game plays itself so you're not even really controlling much.
Nothing blew up!?
Why is every Gears 3 screenshot so small?
If they call that motion blur they could learn a lot from Gears, Killzone or Crysis 2. Their 'motion blur' isn't a blur it just looked like ghosting - if you took a picture you'd see 3 versions of the same thing on screen at the same time.
The game was amazing probably my GOTY (I played the campaign over 3 times already not including co-op) but the graphics weren't that good most of the time, not terrible but as I said, 7/10 IMO.
It's like people devolve when they are safe behind their veil of internet anonymity or geographical separation. People should get 2 strikes for comments like that then a 6 month band.
I said 2 strikes just incase someones brother or jackass friend does it, not the actually account holder.
I hope people spam these guys with messages.
Yeah totally, people read a number and think Ok IGN gave the games 7.5 but that could be the minority opinion. It seems like 3 of the guys there would give the games a 8.5-9.5.
They really need to implement this review system - it's kinda like Famitsu but better. I really like it.
I think Wii already won, new systems will be out in 2-3 years and I doubt PS3 or 360 will catch up before then. The only problem is the Wii is almost done while PS3 and 360 will live on into the next gen but that doesn't really count.
All I know is that Kratos acting got worse every game. In the first game he was perfect - calm but with an inner rage - I sill love how he said "The Gods demand sacrifice" or yelled Ares. In subsequent games his yelling sounded less like Kratos and more like the actor playing him if that makes any sense.
Reach's graphic looked good at times but most the time they were 7/10...and the some levels had ghosting.
I wish all of IGNs reviews had 4 people - it really gives a better idea of how different people can enjoy or dislike a games. It seems the one review system is too inconsistent.
The author of the article is a moron, he's acting like the gameplay is bland. Pretty much every game site loves the gameplay, they just knocked it down for the story.
It's almost unanimous that the actual gameplay is some of the best in the genre and the story is completely lame.
Although I love a good story, great gameplay = win = purchase.
Agreed Istanbull , especially for a tech demo - it's underwhelming. Crysis 2 on PC looks way better than that. Maybe people aren't viewing it in 'full screen' mode.
Or maybe they were told it "Kicks Ass!" and all independent thought and critical thinking skills vanished.
I hope that's on consoles because if that's PC colour me unimpressed.
If my FPS game choices come down to COD vs. BF in the fall (instead of COD vs. Nothing b/c publishers are too scared normally), I'm going with Battlefield hands down!
SP should be based on a fictional modern China vs. US war.
I would f'ing LOVE that!
"Xbox 360, PS3 in dead heat in worldwide holiday unit sales"
PS3 triple lapping 360 in AAA games.
Won't happen, they always says this and the games look only OK or mildly disappointing. I given up on hoping my 360 impresses me graphically (beyond 3rd party games) and don't really need it too. What I need are actually 5 AAA exclusives and I'd be happy. I
I'd call myself a core gamer and I want Move support almost in every new games that comes out. It at least makes for a fun playthrough on SP adding to the replay value of games.
