Just goes to show casual gamers don't hold their interest for very long. Nintendo and MS in a particular should be careful because they're giving the core market (who are long term consistent consumers) away to Sony by focusing almost entirely on Kinect. Next gen should be VERY interesting.
Music game sales were massive for years...
I think it just sets gamers up to be disappointed - Cliffy is talking like his FPS will be better than all others because they all "lack" something that Bulletstorm has.
He has already claimed in previous comments some sort of superiority over all military shooters and now Halo.
It's not a superior version if anything it's worse. I think they the same but the 360 has too much green which makes the colours look unnatural but it's probably the TV.
I agree, but the 360 colours are kinda messed up - it's like there's too much green in everything (look at the black dress in pic 6 or the skin color differences) but it's probably the TV settings.
Fox News is responsible for the downfall of America....or at least American IQ levels.
Fox News is a tabloid.
Every time a dev starts criticizing popular (and better) games, their game does poorly and disappoints. Epic is talking a lot of shit just like Ninja Theory did with Enslaved.
Hackers allow for pirated games, pirated games are why my 360 games max out at 6.6 GiGs instead of 8 (hey every bit counts - no pun) so f'k hackers. That's around 20% more space lost due to hackers.
Hackers are why in the future it's possible none of us will own games, we'll buy licenses to play them.
Hackers should spend their time hacking Chinese gov computers - at least that's for the overall good cause the Chinese are hacking ours.
Yes, and I'm so happy they're free now too. I used to suscribe to game magazines just to get demo discs last gen. Snap! That's why I used to think Live was reasonably priced when 360 launched, I was like "I'll gladly pay 5 bucks a month for game demos on demand".
PSN you have spoiled me and I love you for it.
Well said.
I love my PS3 (see my comment below) but to be honest the PS3 sucked its first year, PSN was a joke and the games were almost all crap. Not to mention the price and the rumble-less controller. Even multiplats were significantly worse, and I'm not talking about 2 less pixels resolution or an extra jaggy, like a few games today.
*nostalgia* I remember when 360 had AAA game after AAA game in the pipeline...now all they care about is Kinect.
360 also sucke...
PS3 in third place means nothing to me. I've been saying PS3 is a better value in terms of hardware and number of AAA games for a couple of years now (I have 360 too, its just IMO from a quality/quantity of AAA games point of view). PS3s install base won't make it's games any better - Sony already is delivering the goods in spades.
I won by being a smart purchaser, Sony won't fail like Sega or abandon it's user base again like MS did with Xbox 1 and 360 (...
Nintendo owns Mario
Sony owns Kratos
MS licensed Gears sort of like Splinter Cell Conviction, Epic owns the franchise, MS made a deal for the trilogy. Epic even said that a Gears game could come on PS3 but it would be separate universe aka not Marcus and the other meat heads.
MS owns Halo, Fable, Forza, Crackdown, Too Human, and some Rare games.
All fanboyism aside, that's sad, I hope you have a PS3 too then. The best way to enjoy this generation is too have both IMO. 360 may still have some better looking multiplats coming out at least...but the looking at the releases in the past few months, i doubt it.
I like my 360 controller more than my DS3 too, it's just more confortable and the buttons feel better (not d-pad though). I'd love it is Sony redesigned the PS3 controller, the dam thing is 15 years old, take advantage of the advancements in ergonomics!
You sound jealous deadlybrand
He could be right, the next level in immersion requires destructible environments. When I fire a rocket launcher at a brick wall the wall should be more damaged than just a dirty texture.
Remember how cool Goldeneye was on N64 because you could shoot out lights and it actually had realistic looking bullets holes and sounds (for the first time for me at least), more destructibility is like that concept but far more expanded.
I don't think they have any control over what type of games I like or dislike so what's the point of all this?
Nice try nintendo, a portable game machine should be compared against other portable devices.
DICEs first mistake was listening the negative comments on their forums, 90% of comments on game forums are negative and often represent a very loud but small minority of the consumer base.
And I liked Cole's new look!
That's brilliant! A button or gesture that does a quick 90 degree turn (double tap for quick 180). Dam I wish Guerilla implemented this, Move controls would be amazing with it.
