dude it's nothing new, in general companies wait an see what they do and try and steal it, be it control pads, 3d cameras, target lock systems, but they never catch the magic of that first time.

i've had a quick think about how it would work,Would they put cars on one disk and tracks on another, imagine that online it would suck.
Imagine if you were online and someone new joined the race and to see him you would need to change disk, I would feel bad if this rumor was true, even if you didn't notice anything in load times.

Trust me dude your wrong, I've got to pay £12 for my brothers to play, when I use his game id it says my console has used it's free player, go to the mgo store to buy more.
I also raised a point here during the beta, I noted that I had concerns that with the purchasing of maps would be restricted, and I was right.
I was really looking forward to buying dlc for this game but by the time there done with this it could cost me over a £100 to accommodate all the player...

I had it on ps3 (pal) and it was great for the first week or so, but I started to get that seen it 10 years ago feeling, and quickly moved on, although I was hugly impressed with how the mods worked, geeting them through my ps3 browser and instaling them was a cool feeling.
