looks good, shame it needs a wall socket for power.
I know what you mean, I thought it was fairly common knowledge who were involved, it always made me laugh how Toshiba were in with the cell yet tried to beat it in regards to the blu ray unit player in the ps3.

but as the article says Sony started it before the others joined in. but it was 4 spu based around...
was about to bring up the money made, depends on region sales figures with the strong pound it could 6-700,000,000 usd
from what I understand,Toshiba are using it because it's a IBM,Sony,Toshiba made chip.
lets hope so, bu8t seeing as MGO has decent servers with little to no lag than I hope konami have learnt from 08
from what I understand, it's because the 360 would read the disks at a really slow speed, far slower than what is needed to play the game.
it struggles to read a duel layer dvd9 fast enough, that's why the disks were capped at 7.75 gb and not the 9gb that the name suggests.
@ shadow man 7.1, just seen your post below and it sounds interesting. but really it would really be the same, not sure but it's probably cheaper to use 2 disks though.

I agree if it can be used to increase detail then why not, although it would be better if they didn't.
@POG
all shots and vids of the game that have you surrounded by buildings and in rooms obviously don't need it.
but to take the scene with forrest in the background seemed to have a lot of blur effects going on from about 30m out from marcus, but like I say it's not an issue.
it looks to me that epic will try and boost texture detail closest to you by using plenty of blur/mist effects to reduce detail in the distance but increase it in the foreground.
thanks man, I'm actually surprised at how many different textures there are in each scene, and it makes it look amusing.
does anyone know if this a psn only game.
Sony should get there chequebooks out now
one thing that has impressed me with the ps3 is the size of some of the store games, Warhawk and GT5p the most noteworthy. hopefully at E3 they will show many large games on psn.
you got to love vic and bob
I got uncharted for free when trading in gta, I might get r1 on the cheap, and possibly heavenly sword
the first 4 pics are old and from last year.
not in extreme, I started straight on big boss hard and yet to complete it, if I get spotted I normally let snake die, but i like to perfect things, I spent the best part of three hours trying to go through the militia tunnels (act 1 after mk,II) without getting spotted. it was a hell of a lot of fun but rock solid.
If I could have extreme mode now I would restart the game and try to play through it again.
anyone have an idea if they do a live stream for these conferences
probably more detail but less gameplay and content then 4
so does that mean what AMD have shown, has no bearing on the console market? and that they might as well not have bothered.
funny if that was the case.
I wonder how much it will cost per console if it was released in the next 3 years? also I wonder how it compere's to IBM's cell when they use light and not wires as in this gen of cpu.
couldn't tell from the vid but it didn't seem to be simulating her hair and stuff like that. also it sucks that there's no vids of them playing it.
"Not "the CELL", the current revision 1.0 of the Cell/B.E. processor, the one
within the PS3, uses a somewhat strip down version of a full-fledged
PowerPC 970 core. However, another revision can have a much more
powerful PowerPC core. It really depends on the intended use."
again without any knowledge on this, it seems well thought out really in terms being able to make revisions.
could you not then be able to double the amount of spe, ...
