I don't buy games day one anymore and I come off with a better price with less disappointments.
It's not a compelling reason but Bethesda says it's to ensure everyone can enjoy the game around the same time with as little spoilers possible.

No backwards compatibility with Wii games, WiiU games and DS or 3DS games are also not playable on the Switch. Looking at the medium used (cartridges like the DS) I guess we could have guessed this.
We might however get remasters or digital downloads, however with just 32GB HDD, that is just not gonna cut it so I guess we'll see.

And no confirmation if the docking station actually provides extra power (but I doubt it). Again, why try to use that as a counterargument?

I understand people wanted DS and 3DS compatibility, but when you look at it from Nintendo's point of view, you can understand why they didn't. This would pretty much make the 3DS and New 3DS systems obsolete. Why would people even buy them at that point anymore if you can just fork 300-400 for the next system that nintendo fans want that also plays console games?
