Bad press is only among fanboys on forums. Most people making noise are PS3 fanboys. Devs would love DRM and so would investors. Gamers with no internet would be devastated and would hurt MSFT bad although making devs and investors happy, as long as the install base was healthy because of DRM.

A possible premium SKU will probably have a subsidized payment plan like what is offered with the 360(TRIAL RUN FOR 720)

He never said they buy them for the way they look. Showing a console at its own reveal will show the company is in a healthy position to talk about it and then launch it when promised. It shows it's a well thought out plan/hardware/strategy/service .
