Always online is xbox mini's functionality not the 720's, who's to say if it's still planned. The always online rumor could also be part of the rumored 720 petaflop game streaming service, making it the 720 after all! but not in the way trolled by media and fanboys(or possible 360 soc in the 720) all mixed up with 720 dev kit security protocols.
You're talking about a rumored reveal date that was pushed back. In recent rumors it was said MSFT pushed it back because they seen little Sony offered that posed a threat and another one said it was also pushed back because MSFT had some things they had to polish up with the hardware so they could show the console at the reveal.
