I said it above and I'll say it again. Which format do you think will have higher sales initially DVD or Blue Ray/HD DVD? Almost without question DVD. This will be the case almost without question despite the fact that the new formats new and "better". This is the case because it does take time for new products to gain momentum. New products are new, more expensive, are lacking content in contrast to the older formats. The fact that the 360 is doing as well as it is is a testa...
Of course it is a game system as well but that is clearly not the focus of the system. It is true that those are hard words coming from MS but they are simply stating the obvious.
Of course this makes sense. It takes consoles time to game momentum. We are talking about two consoles that dramatically different in price, $400 vs $130 dollars. We are also talking about completely different type of gaming consumers. Most of the people who are buying PS2's at this point (unless they are replacing a broken one) are either very casual gamers and/or are just getting into gaming. This is the perfect time to buy a PS2 for this type of consumer since everything is cheap and ...
Dude your crazy. Tell how I have anything to do with the fact that after I downloaded the update my 360 won't boot to the dash but loads the game instead?
It is also interesting to note that the PS2 had better specs than the Xbox but the Xbox still outperformed the PS2 hands down. It is going to be interesting to see how things will play out this generation.
I love how these children come on this site and start trying to justify their purchase by bashing one console or the other. Until both are released there is no reason to believe, based on the conclusions of those who are in a better position to analyse the performance power of...
I agree with one of the above posters who stated that this very unscientific survey was probably conducted at gamestores and as such does not represent a good cross section of gamers. Look, I personally have gotten 3 negative responses to their pricing structure from people who are casual gamers. Scientific? No, but that is my personal experience and I think it makes more sense than the average joe saying yeah I'll pay anything. Another reason I think this article is a little dubious is th...
Besides that I plan on waiting it out for a year or two to see which disc format will be the leader. If it is HD DVD then an add on to my 360 will be in order. If not then a stand alone BD Player will have to take its place.
I prefer HD DVD at this point simply because it is cheaper. Paying an additional $500 for 20 gigs that will rarely if ever be used is a waste of money in my view.
I think that they are holding back titles so that they can blitz the PS3 release this fall.
I keep going back and forth about this game. The interview though has helped to increase my interest level but I am still not sure how this game will actually play. I love the concept of nations fighting against nations though. Let's hope that all of the devs ideas turn to actually work well and be fun.
Your comment regarding anime is not entirely correct. Anime as a genre is very wide and includes many age ranges. While Dragon Ball Z is must definately oriented to a younger crowd it is not in any way definitive of the entire genre. Perhaps you comment would have been better put if you had said that in the US most adults do not watch, or prefer to watch anime.
"So XBOX fans have fun waging war on this site and bashing the PS3 but in the end you will have won nothing because the PS3 will release and it will be a great game system and Sony will have the last laugh and so will I."
Your "article" sounded great until you negated everything you said in this final statement. To bad you are no better than the "xbugs" you are refering to.
Your problem is that you don't want a news site you want a fanb...
Thank god for a voice of reason in this cacophony of craziness.
Your statements are very misleading.
"They're all just mad that they're having to pay over $50 a year for the ability to play online."
Your statements imply that the two respective online experiences are the same and that the only difference is that MS is charging where Sony is not. Bull! The fact is I am overjoyed to be able to play the paltry sum of $49.99 (per year) in order to play in a relatively lag free environment and with cheating kept to a min...
I think you have an excellent point. At the end of the day despite the critism Sony might take for copying MS's online service it really is the best thing to do. Obviously they should put their own spin on it. One of the main reasons I purchased a 360 is for the online component that is done so masterfully. I will not buy a PS3 unless they provide a similar service.
What does that tell you?
Dude that is funny. The reason the xbox fans are dissing Sony is because they used to be Sony fans and have seen the error of their ways. These once Sony fanbois are now looking back with disgust and resentment for the ways they've been had.
I never thought I would say it but I am actually getting excited to play this game. It seems both easily accessible and fun/deep gameplay.
I whole heartedly disagree with you comment that MS didn't do anything that the PC hasn't. One of the main reasons why I prefer Xbox live over the online PC market is the relative lack of cheating that goes on. Sure there was a limited amount of it in games like Halo 2 it is miniscule compared to the rampant cheating that goes on in PC games. This problem has for the most part been fixed with the new 360 hardware.
The other reason why xbox live is greatly superior to the pc ...
That is a good read for anybody.
