This is the biggest load of crap yet. A full length HD movie takes up this amount of space. Video takes up way more space than game code and so I'm calling bull on this one. And here is another little winger for you: if movies weren't compressed the hell out of them they wouldn't fit on 10 BD discs.
It's not a matter of being cheap but choosing not to waste ones money on an irrelevant magazine. With the rise of internet news (like this site here) I can read virtually everything in OXM 1-2 months before the magazine is released. Case in point is this article which has given us nearly everything we need to know in next months OXM subscription. The only thing gaming mags were good for was demos but now that most of them come out sooner or later on live market place why spend the money?
If anything blueray is not the solution but the problem.
The world is always changing but people do not. Don't go back seventy years? Remember that WWI was supposed to be the war that ended all wars? I would laugh at your naivity but in truth I am freaked out. In 30-40 years when the Muslim populations of your countries have reached unmanagable levels and they begin to try and take your freedoms away in order to institute Islamic law (which is a religious obligation for them) and you have no way to protect your rights because you have given up ...
"Take away guns and only the criminals will have guns".
This old statement has been, is, and will always be true. The problem with the Marts reasoning is that guns are not what kills people but people who kill people. The above statement has been proven time and again. One of the above posters commented that the Mart was probable from Europe. He/she should go back and check the history books on WWII. It was the passifist attitude of Europe in the interum betwee...
I wish MS the best of luck. I can't stand the iPod. It is probably one of the most overated consumer electonic devices out there. There are half a dozen other MP3 players out there that cost the same but are better devices.
I am excited to see how MS's device will sync with the 360.
Intel isn't killing PC gaming, technology is killing PC gaming. We have reached a point where you can get a great looking game system for a fraction of what it costs to purchase and upgrade a PC. Sure the PC looks better but since most gamers are casual several thousand dollars over a five year period spent on purchasing and upgrading a gaming rig seem considerably less attractive then a $150 to $400 console.
Yes this game's graphics do not look as detailed as GOW but they simply can't. The reality all developers have to face is how and where to allocate game resources. Developers simply can't do everything in a game perfect otherwise it would take too long, be too expensive, and run up against hardware constraints. The game developers for Crackdown wanted to focus on gameplay over graphics and I applaud them for doing so. This game looks to be a huge amount of fun.
I agree with the author's conclusions that MS has done most things right with a few hiccups here and there. I would have prefered that they spend a little bit more and gave us a two sku pricing structure with a HD standard. Other than that I am extremely happy with the console.
You are incorrect. When he was discussing the 39.99 to 59.99 prices he was refering to customer expectations. When he was speaking in reference to what the actual price of the PS3 games will be he said, "So, if it becomes a bit higher than $59, don't ding me, but, again, I don't expect it to be $100." So your conclusions are based on an incorrect reading of the article.
I hope they don't price games at $79.99. It is hard to imagine how they will be able convince the average joe to shell out that kind of cash for a game that they can get on the competition's machine for $20 bucks less.
That sounds alot like he is preparing us for games priced slightly higher than the $59.99 pricing structure available for their competition. I'm guessing $64.99 to $69.99.
"all I know is the PS3 will definitely feature the ability to stand on it now"
Lol, that is great!
This is just one more evidence that MS made the right decision by not going with either of the new dvd formats. There is simply too much confusion right now.
That video is good for a couple of laughs and that's about it.
If you are going to ask consumers to pay a higher price you have got to justify that price to the them. I for one don't see the value and the feeling I get is that many others share this view. It will be interesting to see how it plays out.

Preach it brother...
That was great dude. This guy has serious issues. He/She really needs our help, lol...
What's the deal with you and the word "moron"? I've noticed that it seems to be your favorite word here in the comments section. I was hoping you could share with us the story behind how the two of you came to be such good friends.
