I canceled my pre-order for this game last night and it has nothing to do with reviews but the few back catalog of games i have sitting on my shelf i have to play (Splinter Cell conviction, Enslaved and Black Op's, Mass Effect 2 Arrival, Fable 3).

From the videos of Brink i have seen so far, Brink really looks appealing so will be getting this game in the next few months.

I don't buy games based on reviews but buy them based on the fact that the conce...

I can't speak for other countries but here in the UK, the game got zero marketing. No TV spots, commercials, magazine ads nothing.

And the fact it came out the same day as Red Dead redemption, a game that was seriously advertised, did not help Alan Wake at all.

I blame Microsoft for the less than stellar sales of the game.

Seriously!!!!

Black Ops is the biggest selling game of all time on the PS3. The DLC will obviously sell in the millions which is only a good thing because Sony will benefit greatly from it.

I may not be an Activision fan but at least, i can't be bllind to the benefits that having the franchise has for platform holders.

@ Blaine: I never said Sony can't afford it but said "at this point can't afford to be throwing around £8 billion".

SOny have more important issues to deal with, diminishing sales and profits in TV, portable, Laptops and mobile phones. A video game sector that has seen its competitors beat it hands down in profitability and now the recent financial impact that the offline PSN is going to cost them. Every day PSN is not online is costing them millions an...

Sony at this point can't afford to be throwing around £8 billion plus on just one acquisition.

Just bought the game today on amazon so should be playing it by the weekend. Heard a lot of good things about the game.

I was really interested in seeing how this pricing strategy would turn out for THQ. Too bad for THQ.

On N4G, you can hype all your fu*king exclusive from now till the end of time and no one in the real world will give a damn.

I doubt a new xbox will be announced this year because it will destroy the momentum the 360 has. 2012 E3 announcement, with a fall 2012 release date will make so much sense.

We need more articles like this on N4G. Good work mediabeast, this article made me lol.

In 2010, then the answer would be yes.

lol, you guys are really unlucky. I have suffered from RROD only once and that was april 2008. Apart from that, i have never had a single issue with my console. I don't even know a single person that has had RROD more than twice.

I got the slim last month, so the old one has just gone into retirement.

I completely disagree. In 6 months time, this gen will be 6 years old. And if the 360 successor drops next year, then that will be 7 years, making this gen the longest gen ever. So a new gen after this year is due.

In 3-4years time, graphics on tablets when hooked up to a TV will far outstrip the 360/PS3 in every possible way.

The 360 as you pointed out has been a financial success for Microsoft, so they could easily have 2 consoles on the market for hardcor...

Good news. I have had my launch 360 for 5 years and 6 months now, so 2012 will be a great time to enter a new gen. Hope it can produce some battlefield 3 rivaling graphics.

That is not a question that should be directed at people that use this site.

Am i the only one that sees both situations as completely different?

Fall 2007 saw a massive server overload on XBL due to so many accounts being opened. This made it difficult for people to connect to servers. Some people had problems for days connecting, some did not but not once was XBL completely dead for 2 weeks. I personally had connection issues for a weekend and that was all. And when i say i had connection issues, it means it will take me anything from 2-10 tries for...

It depends on a few things. If Nintendo allows you to attach an off the counter portable HDD to the console to expand the storage space, then i think it will be okay since its also rumored to use Blu-ray.

if it will be sold purely as a games console and not an all in one media center like 360/PS3, then it may not bite them in the foot. I know a few people that own the 360 arcade and are hooked up to XBL but have never bought DLC or XBLA games due to space issues.
