So an empty open world with nowhere to go, nothing to do, nothing to see, and a handful of enemies, all with no dungeons like BotW but with LttP's story?
No thanks, leave BotW to BotW.
I hope they don't use the same weird art style for LttP, that game was darker than LA so it wouldn't fit at all. They can use the same engine or whatever but the art can't work.
No good reason not to include both since they were just ROMs anyway.
Time doesn't mean anything in business. They can just hire another company to handle the remakes; the Demon Souls remake seems to a decent remake, all things considered. Nintendo has already done with before, look at Metroid: Samus Returns. Don't make excuses for them. I don't see why they should hire M2 at all, if they're hiring another company for a collection then put the money into it to be true remakes, OoT deserves it (so did SM64 but...). It isn't like they can'...
How about putting in a little effort this time instead of just throwing ROMs at us with zero new content? Super Mario Sunshine was rushed on NGC so there was cut content and a lot of cut ideas; it was a perfect opportunity to spruce the game up and bring it more in line with the original vision, but instead we get a glitchy, lazy version.
For a Zelda 3D Collection it should be simple; remake OoT & OoT (they already have the 3DS versions to use as a starting point) and i...
This really drives home the fact that there hasn't been much of an increase in graphical fidelity with the last few systems. Of course it looks better, but it isn't amazing. There will never be anything like the jump from 2nd to 3rd generation and 5th to 6th generation consoles ever again, and this really is the nail in that coffin...
What could possibly appeal to you about this? FFX was the last good one, I agree with that much, but this game doesn't interest me at all, personally.
It'll be another generic open-world action game. As if we don't have enough of THOSE to go around, huh? What a breath of fresh air it will be when some big company fills the void and makes a real AAA Final Fantasy-style JRPG. There's people hungry for it, even if it's a relative niche. Nature abhors a vacuum...and so does capitalism.
I don't remember any mechs in FF1. And of course there's always been technology in FF, there will be in this too, no doubt. Some form of airship is almost guaranteed.
I thought XIII was the lowest the series could sink after the disappointment of XII. Holy shit have I been proven wrong XII is like a JRPG classic in comparison to what we've been getting, even XIII isn't looking too bad after XV and now XVI being another damn action game...
I guess remasters are the only thing we classic fans will get. Screw Square.
I'm already completely against it. No turn-based combat, no interest. Not that FFXV was good even as an action game anyway, let alone as a true Final Fantasy.
Nintendo did this too with their Mario Direct, these companies have always been scummy.
PS5 if you want the strictest censorship (aside from SJW games). Xbox if you want no censorship (since there's no games to be censored). Hell of a choice we got on our hands here.
Very intelligently break down.
Well, not all the cards. Nintendo's Switch Pro may turn out to be real, and with a miracle it could be a worthy competitor (if it's at least close enough in power like Dreamcast was compared to NGC/Xbox).
Not sure why you're getting downvoted. I guess it's kiddos who don't know what made the series great originally or fanboys who will eat up anything Square excretes.
Stop reinventing the wheel and go back to what made the first ten games good.
I hate the weird pseudo photo-realistic art style they gave this series (and Resident Evil). No thanks.
I like how Nintendo fans need to pretend to have exclusives so this is what they point to, a timed regional exclusive lol. Maybe buy less $60 digital ROM collections and you'll send a message that you want more good new games.
It was very repetitive but it was still good.
