They already had a highly scalable engine with Frostbite 3. So in terms of porting its not that hard for them. They didn't mention ease of development though which also speaks highly to how un-optimized this engine must be for PS4.
How is BF4 optimized for next-gen consoles? Is it just a straight-forward port from PC?
"Already we are getting confirmation of next gen games looking better on PC."
Which PCs? If you are talking high-end $1000+ PCs, DUH.
Why even make the comparison? This is what makes you guys so annoying. You also bring up "the PC" and you have this attitude like its better than everything else. Here's the truth, in terms of price per performance, next-gen consoles blow away PCs. This price-per-performance advantage only gets bigger ov...
PC Gamers are pretty ignorant or just plain blind when it comes to console technology. They don't know the meaning of the words "optimization" and "custom".
We saw 1 or 2 articles saying their using "off-the-shelf" parts and people take it literally.
OT: It looks like AMD finally confirmed PS4 is using hUMA. Let's hope they don't take it back again.
It requires fast reflexes and its pretty much the only AAA shooter on Vita.
...so why remove the digital pre-order? Legitimate user didn't have access to them. Also, anyone who really cares about spoilers would have already been avoiding GTA V news anyway. I don't get the logic behind this.....
I love these meltdowns :D
A console is a 5+ year investment. Neither launch line up nor launch window is enough to buy one over the other. You have to think about games that are coming next holiday or the one after that. For example, iwth Xbox One that would be Halo, for PS4 that would be Uncharted 4 or Naughty Gods next masterpiece.
Console launches are never good. Picking the one that sucks less is the stupidest way of choosing one.
This isn't being advertised as a PS3 exclusive any more than Call of Duty is advertised as an Xbox 360 one.
It's a simple marketing deal. Nowhere on those ads does it say "exclusive" or "only on playstation".
These kinds of deals are the norm these days.
Uncharted 4. It's the safest bet for Sony and it'll be a system seller.
Why not take advantage of your competitors screw ups?
Of course it will. Game studios close all the time.
It means we have one less greedy corporation pushing stuff like Kinect down our throats.
As long as Sony and Nintendo remain in the industry, there's something for everyone. The PS3 and 360 were called the HD Twins for a reason. Their library is 90% identical.
No, its really not. Go grab a Dualshock 3. Now grab a Vita. Feel the difference? Vita is flat and has no ergonomics. It doesn't feel good in your hands. This isn't my opinion its a fact. Vita isn't contoured for your hands at all. I believe the reason for that is the rear touchpad.
Take a look at the Nvidia Shield. Now that has ergonomics.
That was Microsofts way of saying "you'll have to buy this game again on Xbox One". It's an XBLA title so many wouldn't understand why the 360 version wouldn't run on XB1.
It's also when MS thought they had Minecraft all to themselves.
Actually I do have a problem with that. I do not pay $15 to see a movie. I never have.
This isn't even remotely comparable though. There are plenty of high quality AAA MMOs out there that have a $0 entry point.
The game is fine but its the Vita I have a problem with. It has no ergonomics! Vita just isn't suited for a twitch shooter.
I could never justify paying a monthly fee for any game, no matter how good it is. It's just not worth it.
Or maybe EA makes games that don't interest me?
There's a reason they won Worst Company in America 2 years in a row....
It's bad enough Nintendo doesn't take their games to the next level. Re-releases are way worse. At least games like New Super Mario Bros U were completely new.
By buying this re-release you are telling Nintendo its ok to keep doing this and you will never get an original IP from them this gen. They're probably already planning their next Gamecube re-release.
PS4 is DOA.
