Nintendo is supporting the consoles very well.
Who gets a core gamer a console as a gift? They should already have their console. Who ever doesn't have a PS4, X1, or Wii U yet. Can't be in the category of Core gamer. IMO

My main console has to play Nintendo games. My secondary consoles are for 3rd party games.
I've never meet someone that thought the Wii U was an add-on. All three console are great and worth purchasing. The PS4 won the media over this Gen. That is why it has sold over 16M systems. Nintendo has never followed the mainstream that has always hurt, but that's why they are Nintendo. They know the non-gamer will eventually discover the Wii U. Then we'll know which console they'll be playing.

Recently I purchased the NES with R.O.B and SNES with Earthbound for $20 at a garage sale. That's nostalgia!!! Awesome day!!!
Nintendo may have characters with the nostalgia factor, but the gameplay is always fresh. I think it's more of the track record of those nostalgia characters having high quality that is the secret weapon.
Sorry but Battletoads, Banjo & Kazooie, and Conker should all be in Super Smash Bros. I love my X1, but those characters would just feel out of place on the X1.
The F-Zero track in the Mario Kart 8 DLC made me want a new F-zero game even more.

Nintendo is the only company not being shady. I must say Suset Overdrive is the best game this Gen so far. Disappointed that MCC has no online play at the moment. PS4 right now is strictly 3rd party console until Bloodborn & Uncharted 4 come out. Looks like the best games will be release in the middle of this Gen, but what's new.
I just hope Far Cry 4 doesn't have the same problems as ACU.
That doesn't surprise me. NA is full of horrible parents. There's even parents that let their 10 year olds play the Kim Kardashian game.
I don't believe the PS3/360 can handle Mario Kart 8.
To be honest Nintendo has always been in a category of it's own. Non-mainstream gaming. Continue to follow that mainstream like the rest of the sheep.
