The only way i could ever see an open world GT working, is if they took all of the tracks, and made the world map out of them, but even then, it still wouldnt have the same feel as normal GT does

Theres a whole genre built around multiplayer without single player. Battle Royale, in top of that there's the arena shooters and brawlers like overwatch and paladins

In an age where its becoming illegal to have loot boxes and MTS in videogames, for a company to real a product in the state it was in at release, with no MT, Loot boxes of any kind, it is a new standard.
The storytelling and one-shot camera is another standard that should be looked into, not because of those feature directly, but the purpose of those features, no loading screens, which means no immersion breaking screens.
