I think people are disagreeing only because you said you'd wait for reviews. Current trends for reviews for a lot of 'trusted' sites are that they are either bought off or biased. The rest of the reviews that come out are from no name agenda click bait driven sites or biased fanboys from both sides either praising or hating on a game they either have or don't have on their console of choice. Hence why don't trust reviews. Hire it if you must and try it for yourself

If it's in the same chip ecosystem and only the CU and Async compute unit numbers along with cycle numbers change then no development doesn't have to start again they simply won't take full advantage of tech. If your idea was the case then standard ps4 games wouldn't work on the NEO as is either.

I'm not sure. These companies tend to have multiple spec devices ready to go to production in test form. I doubt that it's already gone to production stage.
In reality sure there may be devs kits in the wild. But if Sony only up the specs but don't change the architecture (which we know as its a ps4 anyway) then those dev kits aren't completely void. They will simply get more muscle.
Well that's the point also. If it was never going to be shown why does it matter. The specs therefore may not be confirmed. Sony may not be planning to release this year.
I'm just betting that it gets matched in specs. Or the very least Sony puts it back and releases it as ps5 next year alongside scorpio
