everything considered xbo is doing GREAT!
1) terrible launch
2) flip flops
3) forced kinetic
4) higher price
5) lacking in both quality and quantity in terms of exclusives
6) completely messing up Japanese market
7) almost all Xbox flagship games releasing on pc
and they are only 200+k under? it is simply quite amazing
i have no doubt xbo sales will easily surpass 360 sales when x launches.

i think VR is the next step natural progression for gaming and TV based entertainment. we moved from black n white boxed TV to color boxed TV to flatscreen, plasma, LCD, LED, HD, 4k... bigger more pixels... clearly returns have been diminising for a while now. VR represents a new experience for displayed entertainment.
while it definitely has it's problems right now, pain in the ass to set up, seriously lacking in quality must have content, control issues, motion sickness, cable ...
oh ya it's totally true. haven't anyone noticed that uncharted 1 is so similar to uncharted 2, uncharted 3 and uncharted 4. now this new game releasing fall uncharted lost legacy is again so similar...
unlike all the forzas are all totally different. halo 3 and 4, totally different.

i think it's a pretty well known fact that ms is a pretty long way behind sony in terms of first party development.
as good gears and halo was when they first released, both were 2nd party. quality (actually i think they looked great, but seemed uninspired compared to previous installments) started to wane when both gears and halo went 1st party. maybe just coincidence, but maybe ms's first party studio is just not great.
it is possible that turn 10 talents lies with making driving games... they might not be grear at making fps or tps or whatever right?

i think we need both companies to compete, this would be great for the consumers.
as much as i dislike ms as a company (just look at the bs we have to deal with using windows os, word, excel, etc). you have to recognize they did good (generally) with the xbox. but given half a chance they would turn full ms on you, just look at the bs they tried to pull when they first annouced xbo.

it could be fun as hell (maybe, we just don't know yet), but for a console going on and on about how great games will look on it... sea of thieves is hardly a show case game.

Asia got until dawn in February, but only till feb 20th... i got my ps plus on feb 28... so i am missing out! kinda gutted, really wanted to try until dawn
i think slight advantage to ps4. switch not launch during holiday season, while ps4 not launched in Japan...

i think it is 3.5m in the first 3 months. while switch is at 4.1m in 3 months.
actually both are pretty impressive. especially the switch. as pointed by gemmol, switch's launch window is not within the Xmas holiday Window

i am surprised that the ps4 sold more than 3 times more than the xbo.
why is that i wonder. could people be holding off their purchases to wait for the 1X?
wow i didn't know the kinect 1 gave 360 such a boost.
anyway i believe the x will only boost sales during the launch Window of around 2 months. after that 360 sales will likely surpass xbo again.
also it is likely ps4, 1 slim n even switch will see price cuts and good offers around the time x launches.
given the choice i'd rather pickup a ps4 n switch (or even xbo slim) at the same price of a x.
