I think all of you "foaming at the mouth Sony fanboys" who love nothing more than to start a witch hunt every time a game you care about gets a review score you don't necessarily agree with, seriously need to take a lesson here from Naughty Dog (with respect to their response of Polygon's review of TLOU).

Pro Tip: You'll never be accused of being too respectful or classy in life.

I think you're comment is a bit convoluted with fanboyism but I am also in the Sony camp. I will say that if Sony does anything remotely similar to what M$ is proposing then I'm out and real gamer should be as well. Trampling consumer rights, trusts and privacy is not optional.

Sorry but you're incorrect. What I'm doing is bringing up a more important issue that every gamer faces and needs to be dealt with by US before we can even start caring for or talking about system specs, plain and simple.

If you can't see how the issue I'm bringing up completely overshadows system specs, then please either join with us or step out of the way.

To the Author of the article...

How noble of you to take into consideration everyone else's internet....oh wait, you didn't and it would seem you only really care about yourself in this matter...how self-serving.

Well its obvious that if this sort of tyrannical implementation of consumer rights is successful, who stands to gain the most from it? Devs!

Devs and publishers are the one's pushing this agenda and it couldn't be more obvious from how they're commenting on it and defending it.

Take a stand, speak with your money.

I did see the Xbone reveal, but it's an irrelevant point in regards to your response. If you aren't joking and you actually think that "NEXT GEN MAGIC" is some how more sophisticated then "ROCKET SCIENCE" then it's obvious that public education has completely failed as a whole.

Again. Clearly, you've never looked into rocket science, and perhaps never spent any real time in a book that wasn't gaming related.

@greenpowerz

"Sony would be sealing their own doom if they allow MSFT to better protect developer software."

By this comment alone it's easy to determine that you either work for Microsoft or a developer/publisher backing this anti consumer agenda, why else would you so short sightedly put first the needs of developers in this argument?

Now that we know whose pocket you have your hands in, it's time for a reality check. The...

There's a lot more than just "money at stake". Try consumer rights as a whole. If the games industry is successful in implementing this kind of tyrannical rule over the consumer, then how much longer until every other market takes notice and tries to do the same or similar things? This is the frontline of the War for your rights as a consumer. Stand up and fight.

It's been my experience that Companies work together to consumer detriment rather than benefit. With that said, if you don't think that markets are fixed and so called "rival companies" don't meet behind closed doors in secret then you would be in for a very, very rude awakening.

Sony has been coy at best about their stance on the whole used games issue, but I can tell you one thing, if they plan to implement anything even close to resembling what M$ say...

If PS4 implements ridiculous policies such as M$ in regards to used games, violating consumer rights, trust and privacy then I'll just stick with PS3 and say "to Hell" with the so-called "Next Gen".

It's time we as consumers stood up and make our voice heard. If we give in to this crap things will only worsen, take a stand. If it violates our rights, privacy and treats us all with presupposition that we are all "thieves and pirates" then ...

If by "developer friendly" I hope they don't mean...

"willing to screw over consumers like M$ is for the sake of the developer/publisher"

4654d ago 1 agree0 disagreeView comment

Title should read...

"Microsoft defends blatant corporate greed, violations of consumer rights and privacy"

Resist buying this stupid machine and show M$ who is really in charge of gaming, you.

The same goes for Sony fans as well in the case they follow M$ lead with this garbage.

Thanks, good article, Mike.

The only way they (M$ and developers/publishers that suport this crap) will survive is if people don't stand their ground, don't stand up for what they know is right and decide to just give in because they just cant live without Halo 15 or God of War 12.

We as gamers regardless of platform and any other dividing lines, need to unite against this corporate greed and once we do the companies will conform to our needs and co...

Stand up for something man!! Seriously!! Companies are seriously violating consumer rights and privacy and all you do is sit there complacently ready to get in line like just another "Good German" just because you don't think these kinds of policies will affect you specifically.

This is about more than just you, think about that.

I agree 150% with you SoldtoChrist (nice screen name too). I'm in the Sony camp and I'm just waiting to see if they follow suit with M$. In the case that they do, I'm just keeping my PS3 and giving up on the "Next Gen" of violating consumer rights and privacy.

I'm with you SynGamer.

I also happen to think that Keifer Sutherland is a great actor and very good voice actor as well (I enjoyed him in CoD W@W) and I think he will be a very good fit in the next MG game.

Whoa whoa whoa...

Lets not allow the subject to be changed so quickly, be vigilant gamers!!

That GDDR5 is going to mean NOTHING if the same restrictions and violations of privacy and trust against the consumer are implemented into the PS4 as they already are with the XB1!!

I don't care about clock speeds, HDD capacity, ram speed or hdd capacity... if Sony follows suit with M$ and wants to trample all over its consumers then I AM DONE. I&#...
