2X bdr is about the same as 8X dvd max speed, which is about the same as the medium speed for 360 12x dvd rom. you guys know that you have to disable the 1080p mode in the display setting so the game can output at 720p? The software upscaling solution added alot of blur to the overally image quality, much like ninja gaiden sigma 2. The game looks alot sharper and has a little less screen tearing in 720p.
Sony can pretty much use that engine for all their first party game, just let the artist do the work. ND just need too keep upgrading the engine, like from SSAO to dynamic occlusion etc.

PS3 is using HDR, and 360 is using MDR due to FP10 rendering. Its quite a technical difference.
