People act like this is new when even in their early videos they said it was all about the money:

The prize pool is fixed, Blue Steel Sub Zero skin sales add on to it. In any case, I am not defending these terrible DLC practices, but I don't think these are as bad as they are painted up to be;
The game comes with tons of unlockables and ultimately, the only "buy requirement" is the Season Pass (a sad sad practice which has become all too common), but at least it's of unfinished characters (Yes, the models are done, the moves and balancing and such are clearly n...

Best comment by far and my feelings on the matter exactly, bubbles for you :)

These unlocks are for VERY lazy people or for tournament consoles, simple as that. Yes, in the past it would have been a simple button code to unlock everything, but this is hardly "Evolve" levels of criminal DLC.

This is clearly aimed at lazy players and for tourneys, where there's no time to unlock everything, so it's easier to just pay $15 for every skin and character to be available. For any normal console owner, playing through the story mode and a couple of towers will unlock the all of the krypt (and with it, the easy fatalities and alts).

Blue Steel Sub Zero is a DLC skin who's funds go into the ESL tournament prize pool, so please, do your research.

A little late for clickbaiting, specially since it reads like a 9/10 review...
EDIT: But of course, Battlefield Hardline gets a 10/10. lol

I can relate to Brenna's issues with the game. I've been waiting for it for a long time and, simply put, I don't feel this game is made for me (IE: I'm no longer the target audience).

Time for games has become a scarce resource between work and personal life, commitment to a 40+ hour game is a daunting task with work deadlines on the horizon and projects in the pipeline. Yet, I feel that for The Witcher 3 I'll make time here and there and walk away enrich...

Terrible guide/video, as it essentially just tells you to dodge and spam R1.

The cleric beast is there so you can familiarize yourself with future boss stagger mechanics. You can aim at the body or the head; if you shoot the head while it's attacking, you'll stagger it and be able to get a critical in (when he's hunched over, walk up and press R1 for a grab attack that does massive damage).

You can keep to the left, as he has less range on his sm...

They haven't said if it's for the actual game or the mobile version, since Kenshi was mentioned as well. With Cassie, I think the character slot should be taken up by another character to be honest, as much as I like Cage.

Because every game now is doing open world, regardless of if it fits its gameplay style or not. Truth be told, I'm missing the "restricted but open" progression games (think ocarina or majora, dark souls or symphony of the night/metroidvanias) where I get multiple paths all leading somewhere instead of just one huge open world with MMOy things to do like node mining and soul-less "side quests" that have no bearing or impact on the world.

Again, it depe...

Wow, amazing work, reminds me of Chrono Trigger: Crimson Echoes, another amazing fan project.

It looks great, but to be honest, more and more I feel like I am getting "open world fatigue" when it comes to games. Very few of them have managed to keep me engaged as much as Red Dead Redemption did in it's days.

Ultimately, it comes down to gameplay and story. An open world is only as fun as the play you get to do in it. At this point I get more excited for better AI than I am for environments and graphics, though I understand that they are different beasts ...

Yeah, you're right, I could have checked that but for some reason my head thought it was May :/

Oh well, getting MKX sooner is no cause for complaint :)

Mortal Kombat X is in May if you're into fighting games (although, seeing as how the MK9 story was so good, there's something even for single players)

Si-Fly: It's called GeDoSaTo, and yes, you can play even Dark Souls 1 at up to 8k with dsfix. Or, you can play it at 1440p with downsampling from 4k

The last boss was a symbolic battle, not supposed to be a challenge (think old man in Hotline Miami). The final boss was False King Allant and he was tough as nails.

Speak for yourself. Replaying older games is always fun, specially when the upgrades are considerable. If anything, now that I moved countries and am without a gaming PC, being able to play these games at 1080p/60fps is awesome, since my laptop barely holds out on most games.
If nothing else, I wish we'd get a number of remasters now that the console power is up there and with some games coming out: An Enhanced Edition Witcher 2 (even a PS4 couldn't max it out, but it would be...

Great article, even though it doesn't really say anything new or that common sense doesn't dictate, which is sadly the problem: common sense is less common every day.

The people who complain about things they don't like in art are the same intolerant people who would never read an article like this. Still, kudos to the writer for trying and if it changes the mind of only 1 person, it will have helped make the world a better place.
