well said. I do use blockbuster and on demand as my primary source for rentals.

"it will be capable of" never "all games will be". And at the time, with the prototype they were using, it was capable of dual HDMI. However, the user that said 599 is enough to pay is right. That's why there is "only" 1 HDMI port, and also why there is not 4 LAN ports. And the system is capable of 1080p @ 120FPS, with "4d". However, tvs have only recently added 120hz capabilities 2 years after the launch of the ps3. The prototype ps3 was being designed...

i have a pretty freaking beefy machine, and ive played crysis all the way through on max settings with 8xAA and i am straight blown away by kz2. Crysis, while looking really nice, depends on distracting you with scale rather than show detail. For instance, the "destructible" buildings in crysis are like card houses, and don't fall apart very naturally. The character models for the enemys are kinda weaksauce and fake looking. The only thing i really like about the graphics in crysis ...

to watch nVidia scramble around throwing out several models of graphics cards as fast as they can to try to beat the 4870 and 4870 x2. Ive seen the 4870x2 at 399 now, makes it hard to want to get anything else. nVidia has been acting wierd lately. They pushed out the 9800gtx and gtx+ for what? Why didn't they just go straight to the 2xx series? At least the jump from the ATI 3XXX to the 4XXX was a really big one.

this one is 2 260's...making it slower than the 4870x2 in higher resolutions, which is where this market is. There's not much point in these cards if you aren't running higher than 1600x1200. Don't get me wrong, this is a great card, but just not quite as fast as the 4870x2 in higher resolutions/AA.

oh, and the 4870x2 mops the floor with the 280. The single 4870 is = to 260gtx. Should read more. :)

actually, from the earlier trials, they got to 4.5 on air stable.

in a way, if you got vista you should be given 7 for free. They're essentially the same OS, 7 is just fixed. And yes, everyone expected to get a new 360 when MS admitted it was flawed, why shouldn't the same rule apply to ALL of their faulty wares?

is integer computing the focus in modern games?

6276d ago 0 agree0 disagreeView comment

MS should have said the 360 was a hardware beta.

I too have comcast. But don't be fooled by comcast's download speeds. I'd rather game on dedicated DSL any day. My pings are not only slower than my old DSL connection, but it's really unstable too. My DSL was 3mbs, where my comcast is 8 with "speed burst" which essentially steals local bandwidth from neighbors momentarily to download large files. Only problem is, they steal mine too. Dedicated for the win.

higher res games do not need more disk space. higher res textures, models, and sounds do though.

the 360's gpu is an ATI x1600. So, technically it can display 1080p images, but, with such a lowly gpu, good luck getting a decent game running at that resolution.

you cant send a HD signal over composite, at least using the TV tech we enjoy now. The console is simply outputting video, regardless if you're playing a game or watching a movie. If you need to output HD video signals you're going to need HDMI, Component(only up to 1080i), or some other means. Composite just doesn't cut it.

we all know what he meant. And technically speaking, HD-DVD and Blu-Ray are "high def" media, as that is what they are advertised/sold as. So, your wrong for being stupid and for trying to sound smart.
