Generations ago they were the leaders in terms of rpg sure, but for a long time the whole world has been making rpg gems. The importance of a rpg coming from Japan wore off years ago. Heck, a foreign developer was even making a ff game until it was canned. The importance should be put on the effort of the developer and the quality of the game, not its country of origin.
