1) Gran Turismo - no doubt the greatest tribute to cars and racing ever created. Forza is excellent but not on par with GT series.
2) Metal Gear Solid 4 - Sam fisher is no Snake and MS tried very hard to snatch this one from under Sony's wings.
3) LBP - Wait till this game comes out and starts a user generated content revolution in the gaming world. This game has the potential for mass market appeal and attract the casual crowd aswell. BK3 or Viva Pinata are nice...
The analyst are saying the 360 is in trouble cause it only keeping pace with last years numbers. Meaning there isn't a growth in the number of hardware sold YTD. Also people keep bringing up GEoW 2 and Halo Wars but again the question is are those games going to sell hardware? Don't get me wrong both games will be huge hits and will sell millions but then again just like Halo 3 and GTA IV, neither game is going to push units off the shelves. The current 360 fall lineup is targeted to hardcore...
They talk like this will be the year they will dominate everyone else. Sorry but I don't see it that way, as a 360 owner Gears 2 seems like the only appealing game so far for this year. In terms of business GEoW 2 will sell a lot of copies but it isn't going to be a system seller because the primary demographic for that game already owns a 360 console and will just buy the game. At this point Microsoft needs something fresh and creative to push hardware rather than hashing sequels to games th...
Bale has that worn out harned face needed to play this role. Excellent choice.
This looks like a tech demo done 5 years ago.
Sorry but Wii can't match match GEoW and MSG4 in terms of graphics. Maybe it can rival some 3rd party EA ports but nothing like top of the line games on the 360/PS3.
UT3 will be great with all the mods being created for it. Gamespot will have to rethink their score cause this game only gets better once a community begins to evolve and people make crazy stuff for it.UT franchise has always been supported by a dedicated community.
He should have just taken $300 and left the rest there. Granny wouldn't notice a thing. You don't kill the goose that lays the golden egg.
Divx is the weapon of choice for pirates and I don't see how Sony being a movie studio as well can allow something like this to happen. If this is supported in HOME then the first thing you will see is a bunch of people putting up Spiderman 3 and pirating it over the network.
Even if they were trying to start a movie on demand type service, it would be a bad idea since they are promoting Blue Ray as the premiere format for movies. Digital distribution is still years away from ...
If a good HD TV costs upwards of $1000 then why would someone bundle it with a cheap $98 HD DVD. This is for the Walmart crowd that buys the terrible Vizio and Olevia TVs for $500. Sorry but that is not the crowd that will end up buying HD-DVD software in the dozens. No 1080P means all the people with high end TVs will not buy this thing. People this exactly what happened last gen where the $100 DVD was bought by people with old tube TVs let alone a flatscreen or projection box. Some people s...
Vinyl is great but only for people looking to collect stuff for the nostalgic importance. But the future is in digital distribution because it is cheap and you can buy only the songs you want. I now have a music collection over 20,000 songs thanks to mp3 downloads through P2P and now iTunes makes it even better with a buck per song so I'm not stuck paying $15 for a CD when I only like 2-3 songs on it. Before the digital revolution, one could only afford a few dozen CDs put now you can get an ...
and goog gets 2 cents per semen drop
hope you like that
This game will slowly creep up on everyone and will be a genre defining game that will sell a ton. Developers will scramble to make their own LBP clones hoping to cash in on this new user created content trend. It won't set first day sales records like Halo but neither did GTA. In the long run it will appeal to a large audience and become a pop culture icon.
1. Sony is actively developing it's own virtual world called "Home".
2. Google is also working on a 3D based world being beta tested at Arizona State.
3. Microsoft is trying make everything "Live".
All 3 know the the next big thing is going to be virtual worlds and they need to get in on it especially after with the business model pioneered by SL and the use virtual currency. Think about instead of spending millions on the next big tech startup...
on the website go to Motion Capture and scratch off both grey blobs and on the top right you'll see a small video of the motion captures rendered in 3D. The most impressive are "Props" in which the girl plays with double swords and "Dance" which goes something like a Shakira video. I must say this stuff unbelievable and so realistic. Enjoy!
Yeah now just bring in that huge sliding weapon cache and were are in business.
It's called a pre-sale empty box which used to lure fanboys into take the pre-order dive.
There are aisles full of these near final boxart on display at EB Games, Gamestop and your local Best Buy.
Show me picks of some dude playing it on their TV and I will believe you.
I thought this game could really push a lot of 360 units but only hardcore gamers bought it. I can'y complain cause I love Bioshock and it is an amazing game.
However just from a pure business perspective I think Bioshock would have sold more on the PS3 if it was exclusive to that system. I remember the figures for a ported title like Ninja Gaiden Sigma were pretty high because PS3 owners are hungry for a quality title. Resistence is still the only AAA worthy title to date and...
Pretty generic picture taken from some old gulf war stock footage.
I've seen people on forums make better stuff with photoshop than this thing.
I hope the game turns out be awesome to make up for this poor taste in design.
Sony needs to stick to it's strategy otherwise they would end up losing all lot of money for no real benefit. Just look at this past year, Microsoft dropped a ton of cash to secure rights to GTA IV DL pack but it hasn't boosted hardware sales at all. Last year MS paid for exclusives like Bio shock, Mass Effect etc... but got back very little in return as neither game pushed hardware off the shelves.
Every new generation has its list of new system sellers. Imagine what it would be...
