I can make a movie right now with Gears 2 and play a whole level with chainsaw massacres. Doesn't mean the AI is poor but developers never intended to create such exploits with the gameplay.
The concept of a knife/chainsaw in a game is meant to be used for close quarter combats and as weapon of last resort.
I can go back to Halo and whip out my pistol with zoom and wreak havoc through the game.

Anyways Insomniac is a top notch developer and make high quality games perhaps like the Rare of N64 generation but that giant has now fallen from its mighty position. can't really compare to Bungie cause they haven't done much except for Halo the last decade. Insomniac has R&D and RFoM as 2 really good franchises from the same studio. I would compare them more to Epic which has 2 solid franchises as well, UT and GEoW.
Frostfire and Desert Glory are legendary now for Socom players. The orginal Socom was very hard to master and required a lot of skills. I still play it online from time to time. I love camping on DG and popping guys left and right with my M82 sniper rifle. Loved those fun filled days!!!

Sony has very little selection of quality games for 2 years now and everybody is already thinking about PS4 and Microsoft is working on 720. WTF happened to taking care of the people that dished out 400 to 500 for a console which is going to become dead paper weight.
