Phone data is one of the most valuable business commodities right now, they will be able to sell market research to many companies with that app installed on 1/2 of the switch users they sell to.
My phone already lets me do voice chat without Nintendo.
It is $20 because they have the phone app that will be datamining everything you do and they will sell that info to make up the rest.

OGXbox could handle all that in system... why wasnt it built in? Just makes no sense to me. Why use smart phones other than Nintendo trying to get an app on peoples phones to try to datamine them. And then charging you for it :)
Applauded for not running the service on the machine you paid for and requiring you to use another device... yeah, that is nothing to be applauded.
And when live came out it was great because we went from Halo LAN parties on weekends only to playing with friends EVERY NIGHT! It was great and only got better, Nintendo doesnt have to reinvent the wheel that has already been made and they still struggle to copy it.

Seriously? MILLIONS of gamers already have Battle.net (Blizzard App, <- WHY???) on their machines... Hearthstone, WoW, Overwatch, Diablo, Starcraft, HotS... Dont get me wrong I would prefer it on steam but lets not kid ourselves if you play Blizzard games you probably already have it, and that is a large number of players.
