What makes you think I don't know what procedural generation is? That does not mean that the game will not get boring after visiting planets because you are just hoping you find something new or that looks different enough that makes it worth it.

Just because I go to one planet and the cat has hooves and four eyes and I visit the next planet and the cat has 8 eyes and fish scales doesn't mean after the 4th 'different' cat it leaves any excitement in it.

@Strange_Evil

"...but saying it's 18 Quintilian is just sensationalizing it."

How is it sensationalizing it when the math is pretty simple. Considering the bit size they chose for their seed it would mean there are (2^64) different seeds. that is not hard to come up with its an exact number based on seeds not objects and colors.

"Gamezone is doing the equivalent of race baiting for gender."

so much this from so many websites.

The whole point is none would be truly identical but that does not mean the only difference is the dirt on one planet is orange while on another it is red.

4321d ago 2 agree0 disagreeView comment

that would take far too long.

as Joshw2011 said above its just

2^64

its all based on the seed they used not the items they have created.

If you could be anywhere on earth as fast as you can explore a video game you would have probably seen everything you wanted to by now.

If you took flight time and money out of the equation there would be very little on this earth that I know of that I would not have explored.

I get your point but we are talking about taking all the obstacles of exploration out of the way and so with the ability to explore freely we are going to need a lot more variety to ke...

Its not about what they are telling you and more about what they are not saying.

How many males say they play casual/action/strategy games?
How many females said they play casual/action/strategy games?
What is the most common game type played by age/sex

Where is that break down?

These things determine game style and development from a business perspective and target market.

The number of female gamers age 50 and older increased by 32% from 2012 to 2013
Social games are now the most popular genre, increasing in popularity by 55% from 2012 to 2013

there seems to be a nice correlation here.

Are you kidding me? Please tell me you understand that there is a huge difference between these situations.

Not funny and has been talked about like this plenty of times.

Not worth the ten page hits it will give this website.

Everyone is evil because they have to fight/kill/steal something.

I am not saying it takes any effort to attempt a DDoS attack.

All i said is prove they arent hackers. No one said they were hackers because of the attack, but the attack was done by hackers (whihc may or may not be true).

Of course you can open up command prompt (Assuming windows OS) and ping an IP a couple thousand times. DDoS attack underway... it wont do much of anything but its that easy.

But to make a service, like PSN and XBL, get clog...

"...thanks to a market insider who's shared details of the new deal with many news outlets."

WHO IS THE INSIDER?

Seriously people learn to be journalists and how to write full stories.

Are we just supposed to believe you with no evidence especially saying it is in late stages.

"Much like the incredibly dragged-out sale of the Los Angeles Clippers" There is no relation between these two as to why or how they are being sold...

Does this author not even subscribe to the source because nothing came out of this that isn't shown in the description of the original article.

Bad form!

Why?

I read through the whole article and never could find an answer to the question of "Why Nintendo Will Always Be Great"

Just goes on spewing how great the most loved games of each console generation are.

There is no conclusion paragraph???

Nothing to bring you back in to the main point.

Typically maybe but that wasn't the case for Watchdogs by a long shot.

Its not like the xbox and x360 didn't have embedded DRAM now they have the much better eSRAM. This should make life easier not harder and the learning curve should be small.

"DDoS attacks aren't hacking" - True

"Calling the assholes that do them hackers gives them way more credit then they deserve." - How do you know?

Unless they bought the botnet from other hackers/crackers than those zombies had to be gotten from somewhere in some form that is probably loosely referred to as hacking/cracking.

Last time I checked you don't instantly have access to a botnet without some leg work (or so...

Where in the article did they say that DDoS was hacking? How do you know the people that are responsible for the DDoS aren't hackers?

Reading and comprehension. Hacker is referring to the people not the event, attack was referring to the event.
