I wonder if they mentioned the hundreds of millions of dollars they spent paying for blu-ray exclusivity.
D*mn! I was really hoping to have Age of Conan this year on 360.
You sound like someone who has never owned anything except playstation consoles. If that's the case, then you should know sony's history of faulty consoles. From upside down ps1's to the DRE's and shoddy hardware of the ps2. But I understand, you support sony, so the 360 hardware problems have to be atrocious. But the "smoking gun" of your depth as a gamer was the "For me ps games have always had heart." Do you actually believe a game has to be on PS to have heart? You sho...
Whatever floats your boat. But for gaming, you would have gotten more bang for your buck with a 360.
The ps3 will continue to have videophiles trickle in, but people who want a game machine will get a 360. The ps3 just can't hang with the 360 in the gaming arena. I imagine starting today at GDC, it will be the start of the 360's 2008 pounding of the ps3.
@vvv
Whatever floats your boat.
Ps3 has a smaller library, inferior gaming hardware, inferior online gaming, less exclusives, and is MORE EXPENSIVE. You are obviously one of those 5 million idiots that Sony's David Reeves said would buy a ps3 just because of brand recognition.

I bought a ps3 not long after it launched. It didn't live up to the hype sony created (or should I say lied about), so after about 8 monthes, I sold it. The blu-ray player was the only thing that I got any use out of. I'm not buying $30 movies. So the movies I watched were rentals. I could download HD movies on my 360, without ever leaving the house. So when a friend offered me $400 for it, I sold it.
If the software line-up of the ps3 greatly improved, I might break down and g...
As long as MS continues to bring the caliber of games that they have for the past two years, I don't see myself buying another ps3.
Hopefully, Age of Conan gets released this year.
@harryvvv
There are two pages about the ps3. You must have accidently skipped it.
lol, I had the same confusion when I first found the story.
Who knows by then? I'm sure dvd-9 will be a portable storage option, right alongside blu-ray discs, and memory sticks.
@demo
I have Comcast. But the way Live and Netflix seem to work. Your bandwidth is calculated with the file size/length, and when enough of of the file is downloaded/buffered, it allows you to start viewing. For a 2gb movie, it takes approx 2-5 minutes before I'm able to start watching. Some people seem to be thinking that a movie has to be completely do...
Burn your content to a disc.
It's obvious some of you have no experience with DD. It takes approx. 2 minutes from the time you make your movie selection til you are watching the content (this is for Live and Netflix). It's not only possible, it already exists.
And Proxy, show me an HD movie that won't fit on a DVD-9.
And Last Dance, my advice for you would be to drop dial-up and get broadband.
@rofldingsvvv
All video is compressed braintrust even on blu-ray and hd-dvd....
So now they are trying to say ps3 hit 10mil in Sept? Because that's what this story is implying. Nevermind the fact that their numbers say otherwise. 360 hit 10.4 mil January 2006 btw.
Sour Grapes???
Sore losers or not, the guy is right about DD. When the rights issues are resolved for the majority of content, purchases of physical media will fall to the wayside.
Digital Distribution will greatly reduce the cost companies share in getting media to consumers. In theory, this should reduce prices for consumers. I have yet to see any kind of cost reduction yet though. It's still .99 cents to download a song, or $15 for a 15 song CD. DD is simply too convient though to not be t...
I just hope that they can make the multi-player graphics equal to the single player, unlike Vegas 1.
Actually, no we aren't screwed. But our kids and grandkids could very well be.
Then they take your money and buy more Ps3's and Wii's. Who's economy does that stimulate?
I'm fed up with people like this person, and N4G is infested with them. I guess when the best job their kids and grandkids can find is a fry cook they might see the point.
lol, probably about as ripped off as ps3 owners did when they thought they were buying a game console.
