Why do people think linear games are so bad? Some games benefit from being linear, and the videogame market is fine with linear games. Just like with movies, songs, and other type of media, different genres can exist, and each genre has their own market.
Don't like God of War for its linearity? Sure, go ahead, hate it. But keep in mind, you're going to be missing out on ONE OF THE BEST games of this year.

Look at the Wii U's current games. There's NO multiplat or game that looks SUPERIOR to the same game on Xbox 360 or PS3 so far. Some look just SLIGHTLY better, and then there are others that have more frame rate drops than on current-gen!

Yeah, I don't think a lot of Xbox fanboys say that, but I did read a few comments back then saying it. I think it was that when when Sony had a promotion with Bravia TVs, when they included free PS3s with every purchase of a Bravia TV.
MS gave away a nice limited Xbox 360 for those who have signed up with Live since it started. You had to have a full 10 years though, or no dice. Still, those Xbox 360s could fetch a nice price in the future (it they don't already)

Did Sony reveal HOW LONG this event is? I hope it's at least 1 hour, 30 minutes. That's enough time to start it off with the usual "We sold this much *insert Playstation device here* this fiscal year!" to show to the investors, show off some Vita and PS3 stuff, then finally PS4 in the last 40 minutes or something.
That was actually one of the three hardest fights for me on God of War III.

I agree. Some games don't need to take tens of hours to beat.
Some games, like Uncharted, is perfect at around 7-8 hours. It's long enough that the game doesn't abruptly end *cough* Kane ad Lynch 2! *cough*, the story doesn't drag or rush, and the ending leaves you satisfied and wanting for the next.
