No it hasn't. You have to play the game to rank up enough to unlock good weapons. So by playing the game normally you will acquire enough money to buy them without micro transactions.

Only thing that's disappointing about GTA5 is current gen limitations. I had sky high hopes for this game and even with current gen limits,its shattered them. Amazing game.
I agree, but not even R* could anticipate that they would break online records with GTAO. I would love to see ANY company have a smooth launch when 15 million people are trying to access it simultaneously.

Nah, that's not actually what's happening. Its because your characters are saved to R* cloud servers so if you cant connect to those servers then you cant use your character. Your character is still there....just not accessible until you can access the cloud servers.
The worst thing you can do is think your character has been deleted and start again, because all you are doing then is saving over your original one which will be available again when the servers are acce...
I hear you, ive been enjoying GTAO all day but the whole time ive been saying "something this ambitious needs next gen and PC to do it justice".
Ive been laughing on GTAO all day, because its so much fun. Sucks that you can't access it. Im sure you will love it when it works for you.
When it works, its very addicting and alot of fun. Im not able to connect to the Rockstar cloud servers at the moment but ive been playing it all day with a couple of friends (UK PS3) and its a blast. Holding up stores and gas stations, escaping the police, doing co op missions and generally goofing around. I haven't even tried to the races or deathmatches yet, and there are still heists to come!
Trust me, when all is working smoothly, its amazingly fun.

Sorry to hear that man. I'll tell you this though....when it does work, its SO FUN. Even with the little bugs and annoying load times, its alot of fun. Holding up stores and escaping the police sounds so simple but its great.
If it makes you feel better, im not able to get back on now. I keep getting the "cannot connect to Rockstar servers" message.
Yeah seems to be that now that its later on in the day and more people are coming back from work, the servers are under stress again. Sucks.
Me and 2 friends have been playing all day on PS3 with near full lobbies. PS3 has been semi working since around mid day UK time.
Although i think things are getting a little hectic again now people are getting back from work.

24 hours after release and the majority of issues are sorted? Pretty impressive if you ask me.

Don't get me wrong, im annoyed. But i half expected this at the same time. R* have never been pro's with the online aspect of games, to expect them to deal with this amount of demand when they sold more games than Black Ops, is a little silly in my opinion.
Play the SP, go outside, play something else, DO something else. It will be fixed soon.

Its not a fail for the people who ARE playing online. A little silly of R* to not anticipate that there would be this much server stress? Yes. Annoying that there was a 2 week gap inbetween SP and MP and it still doesn't work for some people? Yes. But to expect things to be smooth as butter for a project this big is a little naive in my opinion.
