Screens look stunning!
I liked the concept of Metro 2033, but the gameplay got more and more annoying as the game progressed. Combine iffy hitdetection with annoying creatures coming running at you -non-stop- from all directions, and you've got a recipe for frustration.
Hope they'll fix that for the sequel.
I have to admit that in motion it's definitely a step up from Crysis. Some very nice environments and excellent use of motion blur and DOF.
I guess I shall eat a little crow now.
This really isn't that much of a step up from Crysis 1.
The pcgames.de website always overexaggerates their articles. Don't know what's wrong with them.
Because I read their comments and realised they haven't a clue, so I ignore any other comments coming from them.
Understand now? Or do you need further clarification? Should I draw a diagram? ;)
SuperM is actually the only person that gets it. The other comments I will ignore because those people obviously haven't a clue.
They look better and in most cases with better performance. But it's hardly a world apart. The experience is still pretty much the same.
You can't say that playing Metro 2033 on PC is like playing a next-gen game, while playing Metro 2033 on a console is like playing a current-gen game.
That's simply not the case. I know PC gamers tend to be very anal about AA, sharp textures, higher res etc. But the fact of the matter is that those qualities are ...
Up till now, during this 5 year generation cycle there hasn't been any PC game that I would consider to be in a league of it's own (well, except for Crysis back when it was released). Sure, most PC counterparts have better AA, sharper textures and a couple of other techinal benefits. But really, there isn't a single game (except for Crysis back then) that really stands out as much as the PC fanboys make it out to be. Gears 3 on Xbox360 looks absolutely fantastic, as does Killzone ...
I don't know why everyone hates on the COD engine. I think it looks pretty damn impressive considering it's multiplatform and running at a rocksteady 60fps.
A lot of work goes into the details of the environments to make them look convicing. This is something very few games do as well as the COD games. Sure, the game has some low-res textures and some other technical inconsistencies, but it's all about the trade-offs, and I think they made the right ones. And yes,...
People who like the Dirt franchise and own both consoles care.
Ow, now I see. With "us", you mean: "us blind fanboys"..
Fwiw, looking at the pics you're good with either version, but the 360 version does get a slight nod due to better AA.
"...if it's your article i suggest you give it a read through."
You mean: "I suggest you give it a read through."
Does it need to? Are we only allowed to have one warfare FPS?
Pointless article as usual found on N4G.
The game looks cool! I'm just not really sold on the setting. Level design is excellent, but the setting itself isn't very interesting imo.
I'm loving the visuals, looks truly next-gen. Nothing out there now or in the near future that comes even remotely close to the visuals, animations and special fx showcased in this game.
Well, that particular sport metaphor you propose doesn't disqualify my tennis metaphor. I think my tennis metaphor actually does a good job of explaining my point.
Remeber the phrase: "Just because an apple is fruit, doesn't mean all fruit are appels"? The same logic applies here: Just because tennis is a sport, doesn't mean that all sports are tennis. ;)
Also, I could go on to explain that breaking a record once means nothing if you don...
No, it doesn't.
If say, Andy Murray, at his very best, played better than anyone else in history, but only managed to achieve that high level of play during one match and never win a Grandslam, does that make him the best player ever? No, it doesn't.
The best player would be the player that achieved the most during his entire career by maintaining a consistently high level of play throughout.
Though, I see what you mean, and in a sens...
Judging from the Xbox360 visuals, it's very hit and mis for me.
At it's best, Crysis 2 looks better than any other console game I've seen thus far. Though, at it's worst it can look very average. So overal, I wouldn't say it's the best looking console game, but it can be at it's peak moments.
The highlights to me are: Lighting, fx (particles, blur, dof etc), and art (yes, the art is excellent!).
On the other hand y...
Cartoony visuals.
IS this a driving simulator or a speedboat simulator? It's like he's on rough sea or something?! Weird physics.
I came in this thread expecting to see a rumour milf. Oh well..
I'm not at all into portable gaming, but that looks impressive indeed!
