I'm a single player gaming fanatic. However, I don't play anything in 3rd person. I simply like the more immersive feel of 1st person games, along with the smoother 1st person controll mechanics.
Lol... Sounds like Last Jedi Director Rian Johnson.
I understand "to each their own" but a first person view gives the player a more immersive feel. It's how we, as people, live out our own lives.
Off topic: The title of this piece reminded me of a YouTube video I watched this morning on the Doom movie remake, and the title of the thumbnail is "Where is Doom Guy"? It only shows set photos and 2 women with one of them in military attire.
Microsoft was having a PR problem and had to alleviate some of that with a couple of purchases. Besides which, acquisitions happen all the time in business. Also, Phil knew that MS hadn't been taking their gaming division serious, or so it seems, or maybe it's because they had simply chosen a bad leader to run their gaming division. Anyways, at least MS is trying. Things change, they always do.
The fact that the next Halo game is being done on a new engine is news in itself & a surprise. Would have been extra happy with just some info on the engine.
While I'd personally like to see it on PC, I doubt it'll happen. Sony isn't pouring boatloads of cash into the development to let it just crossover.
I too have criticized Battlefield 5 on N4G, but N4G is obviously not alone. Anyone look at all the YouTube channels ripping Battlefield 5 apart? Even though I didn't care to hear the DICE GM finish up his statement the other day with those 2 words, diversity and inclusivity, I'm not in boycott mode, as DICE would have to take the SJW thing even further for that to happen.
Just as long as Battlefield 5 doesn't go full Last Jedi, I'll be ok with it. Need to see more.
Kathleen Kennedy would be proud of these DICE comments.
Even if it turns out to be another 90 min. event, which is still long, they won't be unveiling a Kinect or another console this time. So to fill in that much time with games appears to be challenging. That being said, I'm very curious.. so bring it on.
I have a very (strong opinion) on single player FPS games. They're all I play at this point in my life. To me, the first person view is simply more immersive and sim like. The surroundings and action are more up close and in your face. The control mechanics give me more of a sense of being in control of my character, where as 3rd person feels clunky. Favorites include: Half-Life series, Halo series, Killzone series, Resistance series, Metro Series, Crysis series, Wolfenstein series, Far C...
I've played and liked games that have recieved 5&6, so whether or not this is a legit 9.3, it doesn't change the fact that Microsoft's negative PR marches on.
Wait till little Johnny opens up his Xmas COD copy, pops it in his console, then starts yelling to mom or dad that the game is missing the campaign.
Pleasantly surprised for a STALKER 2! As for the release date, you hear about movies getting release dates 3 years out, but it's a bit unusual for a game. The developer must have been so excited with the go ahead that they couldn't contain their excitement. Can't wait!
Had do adjust my games wanted list with the addition of Atomic Heart & Rage 2.
The sequel comes outta no where by getting outed through an ad, followed shortly after with the box art reveal today, and now we get a gameplay trailer tomorrow... go figure. Looking forward!
Even though Sony prides themselves as an electronics company that historically loves to show off new tech, I believe they haven't been in too much of a rush to release a new console. Sony has simply been dominating and profiting off the PS4 (alone) which has pulled them out of the red (as a whole) from several years back. That being said, we all no it's on the horizon, and besides which, I'm a graphics and performance whore.
Proud to say that I'm a single player gaming whore.
I'm sure money was the motivating factor to join 343, and I'm also sure he'll be able to do something special with the new engine.
