I'm still gaming with 2 overclocked 1080Ti's and an overclocked 5960X, along with a Samsung SSD. The overclocking on my CPU vs GPU is like night and day. The added frames I get from my CPU compared to to my cards is amazing. Regarding the SSD, I compared the load times of Metro Exodus on my PC to my X, and again, it's like night and day. I could take a nap while Metro loads on my X.
This is dumb.
A tech demo is designed to get one hyped, and it's obviously working. But the problem I have with this are the numbers - 1440p/30. The other problem I have is with Assassins Creed: Valhalla on the X running at 4K/30. All that said, It's difficult to achieve 4K/60 and even more difficult to achieve 4K/60 (LOCKED), which is how I've been playing.
MS still needs to work on their damn store for PC. Couldn't, for the life of me, get Metro: Exodus or Gears 5 to run. Both kept crashing back to desktop when trying PC gamepass.
When I mess around with Nvidia's DSR resolution scaling (8K), it takes such an insane toll on the framerate with more demanding games, and immediately causes temps to sore until I create a new fan curve for my SLI setup. As for these new consoles, newer games will not run in 8K. Maybe some older titles and side scrollers that have been enhanced for 8K. And even then, the larger the 8K 2.1 display, the more appreciative you'll be with 8K.
If one is determined to keep it upright, but lacking space, use a universal wall mount speaker bracket.
It got me excited, and its surprise showing is good for the industry. While I mostly game on my high-end PC, I plan on getting both consoles next fall. I look forward to both consoles offerings, and the way both will be dialled in for 4K/60 optimization.
I love it, but it reminds me of the exact shape, and almost the same dimensions, of my Cerwin Vega bookshelf speakers. Hell, I could even mount the new X on the same articulating arm that I use for my speakers.
As stated in another reply, it's roughly 6x6x12ish. Current gen controller is 6x4, and the controller in the pics is about as wide as the console and 3 controllers tall as the console. Along with a 120-140mm fan at the top. Heat dispersion should be great!

Makes sense. Auto companies will add horse power and other items to an existing generation model to extend its run. New tvs and phones are out every year, and people upgrade.
I was able to get 2 - 1080 Ti's to work in SLI with Inspector. 1 card was falling short when trying Nvidia's DSR 8192×4320 (45-60fps), and with SLI, I'm locked at 60fps. However, usage is strange, with both cards at 50-60%, and with frames uncapped - 70-80%.
Looks amazing! But I assume that this VR game won't have too long of a story, due to Gabe probably having budget concerns, thus the reason as to why we still don't have a Half-Life 3.
I'd look into Crytek. Also, maybe try and collaborate with Gabe on Half-Life 3
Well, the new patch got SLI working for me, and without the need for Nvidia Inspector.
This is obviously turning out to be a polarizing game, which also happens with movies. Example: 'Hereditary' horror film. Some thought it was a masterpiece, while others disliked it, and in some cases, a lot. While Death Stranding is just not my type of game, it should probably be given a try for those who are interested in it, and then pass judgement.

I picked up Halo: Combat Evolved (PC) a few months ago, did a few performance mods, and now playing in 8K Nvidia DSR. However, since I play on a 55" OLED, I never tried it with Vsync off. So after turning off Vsync and engaging SLI, I'm getting 300-850FPS in the outdoor levels. But holy crap... between the 8K resolution setting and the uncapped frames, my GPU temps climed so fast without setting a new fan curve.
This was an "unbelievable" rumor from the start. Only those suckers born every minute bought into it. Now, if Sony had the cash that Microsoft, Google or Apple has, then yes, "believable"
So now 1440p/40fps is something to bragg about... go figure.
