Correcting the first sentence:
"Microsoft has released a brand new Xbox One firmware update ahead of the release of Metro: Exodus"
Sounds like a response Kathleen Kennedy would issue.
I'm in the middle. I don't trust Epic's account security, so I'll wait a year to play at 4K/60+ on my PC. But in the mean time, I'll be picking up the native 4K/30 HDR version for my X.
But we were told by "experts" that mobile gaming was going to kill the console market.
I simply don't trust the EPIC's security. So for now it'll be a 4K/30 Exodus playthrough on my X and wait a year to do a 4K/60+ playthrough on my PC. Besides which, I'm so used to 30FPS due to nearly 200 hours on Red Dead 2.
Interesting. The last time I bought a Nintendo console was the 64.
From these latest gameplay previews, it sounds as if the player is in 'survival' mode with no 'spartan' option. Anyone?
What Microsoft wants to do with their next gen consoles is what has been done with so many other products for decades. Entry level, mid level and upper level. TVs and automobiles are perfect examples.
Was rewatching clips from Bethesda's E3. Regarding that "16x the detail" comment, will this be added into one of the updates? Thanks.
I'm not necessarily a Sony fanboy, but they should at least show up for their fans. This is THE show that gamers anticipate every year. And while each company's event can turnout to be bad, good or great, anticipation to the lead up is a hell of a lot of fun.

Anything is possible, but remember, mobile gaming was supposed to destroy the console industry.
To each their own, I guess. I mean, I'm pretty set in my own gaming ways. In fact, I won't play a game if it's in 3rd person... only 1st person for me. I simply like the more immersive feel of 1st person games, along with the feel of having better control over my character. That being said, I only play single player games.
Story was updated about 1 1/2 hours ago. 3 dead (including shooter) with multiple injuries. But I will add, even though my post may get taken down, the shooter used a (pistol) at a Madden video game tournament. If the shooter would have used a semi-auto rifle at a Call of Duty tournament, the video game industry would be getting hammered to no end by the media.
I was running 3 - 980 Ti cards with an overclocked 5960X, and with settings at their highest in 4K and AA off, I could NOT lock in at 60FPS in every game. About 6 months ago I swapped out my 3 - 980 Ti cards and went with 2 - 1080 Ti cards. Wow, what a difference! That being said, when it comes to next gen consoles, settings will still have to be optimized if they want to lock in at 60FPS. Also, the developers should keep AA off for 4K... it's not necessary.
Half-Life 2 just so happens to be my #1 game of all time.
It's fair to come down on Atari for not laying out all the details, but it's even more fair to come down on the foolish people for dropping their cash down on something with not knowing all the details.
Base / Mid / Top - Old concept that manufacturers have implemented in their product lines for years. TVs, home theater products, graphics cards, stereos, automobiles and so on. So yes, I think MS should go for it.
Why Not? Manufacturers release new and more advanced versions of their products every year. A game console has been the only exception to this. I personally am always upgrading stuff.
