You are right about that, but Wii Motion Plus was released last year. I can't imagine we need much better gyroscopes and accelerometers than that.
I do agree with you though that the technology available probably wasn't there yet in terms of availability and cost. However, Nintendo managed to release Wii Motion Plus in the meantime.
In Sony's defense though, a lot of research happens at each of these mammoth companies and never see the light ...
Unfortunately, looking the same and taking "full advantage of the power across all platforms" doesn't work. It is an oxymoron.
So we got a fanboy condeming 360 in a 360 article, then we get a 360 fan exclaiming his excitement. Only to have another guy report the latter as a troll oddly enough since we are in a 360 article, only to find an innocent bystander laughing at the events and finally a PS3 fanboy attacking the bystander.
God Lord! This site or it's visitors needs some help. I need to get out of here.
Thank you for degenerating this article from "left handed gamers" to some sort of console war. We don't need your point here!
So how do one explain the software sale then if the gap is so much smaller?
It's really sad to see this happen to Sony, but they had 4 years of no piracy. That is a feat!
Ironically, that open standard hard drive that comes with every PS3 probably will be the source of storage for most pirates.
Pirates will pirate regardless, and there really isn't a good way to combat it unless you make your games so cheap that it is too much effort to pirate. There isn't much profit in that though!
Ironically, thi...
If I was a Sony shareholder right now, I would be crying my eyes out and sell the stock.
Sony had researched both EyeToy and PS Move, chose EyeToy and released it. Then backtracked and now releasing PS Move after seeing how well the Wii sold.
Sony sounds like a company that is unable to execute a great product release despite having the technology far in advance of the competition.
Now it sounds more to me like Sony never intended to re...
Irony or not, Unreal Tournament 3 was created by Epic themselves. However, I'm not familiar with how Unreal Tournament 3 is better on PS3 than Xbox 360. Care to share with some sources?
As an action RPG, story line is crucial to the game. In fact, without the great story line, ME1 might be just above average shooter.
It's like watching Lord of the Rings 2 without the first. Sure you would enjoy it, but it still lack the depth you otherwise would get out of the story. FF series, from what I know doesn't build on each other's story so yeah not a good comparison.
However, I'm sure Bioware figured out a way to drop you into M...
Obviously Sony is scared the product will go to sale.
Unfortunately, if it isn't monetized first then it will spread even faster when everyone can get their hands on the program for FREE. I can't imagine the code is specific to the USB drive.
At best the lawsuit is a tactic by Sony to try and stall the sale until they have a solution. The cat is out of the bag though and the world is now keenly aware of it and more crackers will put their effort i...
If anything, it seems a trademark "PS3" (if that is trademarked) is infringed upon in the product title. ---
---
Actually, I have a feeling it will be worse on the PS3 considering Bioware used UT3 for Mass Effect games. Most if not all Unreal Engine games have been "inferior" on PS3 compared to their Xbox 360 counterpart.
There is no fairness in business. There is only what you are willing to pay and how much the seller is willing to accept.
Personally, I will not pay $13/month for this game or most if not all games for that matter. However, I find it interresting that some of the people here condemn Xbox Live Gold subscription for $30/year, yet embrace a $150/year subscription.
"How can you say it's Sony's fault? "
Well, Sony said they were going to release PS Move in the Spring of this year, but didn't make the schedule so they moved it to the Fall.
I fail to see how a storage format is holding back a system? Especially when you can just have multiple discs and even install it on the hard drive. Sure it is a small inconvenience, but hardly an issue.
Storage really is a non-issue when there are workarounds. If it wasn't possible, then we certainly one can make a case. Otherwise, it is just pulling at straws.
I have none of the problems you people discuss since I own Wii, Xbox 360 and PS3. I just get it forever system I feel like!
The two above clearly doesn't know about "Nintendont" and etc. They probably only knew of Sony's dominance in terms of gaming history.
What about big families? These online passes only work on one account.
These aren't used game buyers, yet they are getting penalized!
We need to stand up to these companies now that online play is almost half the game.
CDs, DVDs, other software and books don't have issues with used resale media, so why does the gaming industry?
Unfortunately, what people seem to be confused about is that there is nothing moral or ethical about business. There is only "what customers are willing to pay and what sellers are willing to accept". It's called a free market! You are free to choose.
Don't like MS, sell your stuff to Gamestop (Ebay, or Craigslist) and buy a PS3 or Wii.
If there are FREE alternatives, why aren't people switching in droves. Clearly people see some value i...
