How? Sony came out and made outlandish claims and arrogant statements by the guys in charge. All MS has done so far is say they don't respond to rumors, and to reprimand a mostly unknown rogue employee publicly for spouting off. Pretty big leap of comparison there, imo.

There are just a handful of games this generation that I have purchased at full retail cost and just stopped playing before finishing. Far Cry 2 because the shooting was terrible, God of War 3 because I got bored, Crackdown 2 because it was nowhere near as good as the first, Halo ODST because it was too repetitive, Too Human because it was just a bad game, and Dark Souls because I don't play games for frustration (oh, the "hardcore" will hate me for that one,lol), and GTA 4, wh...

It could be genius if the tension and animosity builds and then they say the rumors are untrue at the reveal. The public outcry would immediately be switched to positive news. I guess we'll see.

You lost a lot of respect points with the broad statement claiming the saintliness of Japanese corporations in comparison to American companies. Big businesss is big business. They care far more for your $ than you as an individual, and that goes for any huge corporation regardless of nationality. The only difference is how effective they are in spinning public perception.
So they'd be the second company to have that, haha!
