Well they’re about to f&$k around & find out with Nintendo.
It’s insane, MS has a soon to be 3 yr old next gen console and this acquisition is talked about (& even praised by some of the fans) more than the actual games that’s on the system.
I’m not sure where Hellblade 2 is at, they’re still taking pictures at this point so the game seems pretty far out.
The Initiative is supposedly working on Perfect Dark with help from Crystal Dynamics, but it has been radio silence for years now.
Redfa...
That wouldn’t make financial sense to MS. This is a business at the end of day, & there’s entirely too much money on the table for MS to pull out of the UK because this deal didn’t go thru.
It’s a shame, that this topic has dominated the game industry for well over a year now. I’m really sick of hearing about this.
Better late, than never I guess.
I would agree with you, but the truth of the matter is, he’s been f&)king up for ten years now.
“Usually all we get from gaming execs is them blowing smoke up our ass or talking to us like we’re stupid.”
That’s exactly what Phil has done for the past decade with the Xbox community & he continued that trend with his latest interview with Kinda of Funny.
I’m still baffled that he made that comment saying even if they start buildin...
It being on Gamepass is not going to do it any favors either. The decisions that are made by management for the Xbox is just baffling.
What a mess & a shame.
Damn, MS is having a terrible week so far.
Damn, I don’t think any of us expected the hardware to drop that low.
I keep forgetting that MS has to pay a fee to the devs upfront. I can’t imagine how much money they’re bleeding with Gamepass right now.
This subscription is going to have to turn a profit pretty soon.
If this guy’s statement is true, why don’t we see more big budget games on Gamepass?
???
It’s going to be extremely interesting to see how MS is going to sustain all of the studios that they’re about to own now?
I was looking forward to seeing what the devs were going to produce at the Initiative, but we don’t even know if that studio exist anymore.
I was hoping Bethesda games were going to take advantage of the Series X system with titles like Deathloop & Ghostwire, but those titles are even the same or worst on the X.
...
I really don’t understand the decision making over at MS? Phil stated that the Series X is “their most powerful Xbox ever” but yet they’re releasing this first party Ip (now) at 30fps?
You make an excellent point. I think MS should use that money to invest into their current studios. Whatever happened to their supposedly “AAAA” studio, “Initiative”?
I’m pretty sure that studio and the many other studios that they own will benefit greatly with that money.
Also, l don’t see MS maintaining & sustaining all of these studios, if the AB deal goes thru.
That’s very true, I’m not sure why there’s so many ppl that refuse to accept that fact? Correct me if I’m wrong but isn’t Gamepass just the reincarnation of MS’s original plan with that “always online” fiasco?
It really does look like an expansion pack. There’s no doubt, that it’s going to be a phenomenal game, but this was a shady move pulled by Nintendo. At least Sony & MS can pretty up their lie, by using terms saying their game is going to have “ray-tracing” & “high performance modes”, the same cannot be said about Nintendo. The Switch has been outdated since it was first released. I hope the journalists write how distasteful this move was.
So they felt like increasing the price because they can? Well that’s not very consumer friendly.
Also, there’s no point of waiting for a sale for Nintendo games. Those games take forever to get a price drop.
That’s the $69 billion dollar question though, are they ever going to start making great games for Series X?
Based off Phil’s comments a couple of weeks he believes that even if they start investing into making great titles for the Series X is not going to shift the needle in their favor.
I’m still baffled that he had the audacity to make such a ridiculous statement, especially seeing how the Series X has been on the market for barely 3 years now.
