XB1. More functionality, better games and superior online trump all.
Price didn't stop the PS3 from selling comparatively well with the 360, did it? Even launching a year later without games and at price of $599-$699. The XB1 is is $100 dollars more than the PS4 but it offers a lot more functionality and a superior online as well as better games. This easily justifies the extra $100 dollars.

We know that the XB1 has more features than the PS3. So, what does the XB1 not being around at that time to compare features have to do with anything?
The PS3 was also released a year later and that worked to Microsoft's advantage. Yet slowly but surely the PS3 caught up to the 360 in world wide sales.

I don't think that the extra $100 will really be an issue. The PS3 sold for $599 at launch with half the features of the XB1 and people still bought it, even without games.
I think that the XB1 strongest selling points will be it's decent line-up of games along with XBL. Online gaming will continue to be superior with XBL with the addition of the Azure cloud and it's 300,000 dedicated servers.
In my opinion, all the cool Kinect 2.0 functionality...
So much insecurity over Kinect 2.0 and all it's cool features with XB1. Haters gonna hate!
The one great trump card that consoles have over the PC in my opinion is ease of use. As a PC gamer I'm constantly reminded of this with almost every PC game I play. I could be playing a PC game with no problems one day then all of a sudden game freezes and kicks me to my desktop. This is just one of many examples that I could give. Finding the cause of the issue can also be like searching for a needle in a haystack at times.
Free 2 play games should be exactly that. MS should follow Sony in that respect. Should be the same for services like Netflix as well in my opinion.

I've said this before and I'll say it again, I have never played a PS3 game that was graphically consistent through out. This is because of hardware limitations. All the games on the PS3 that you people brag about look great in some areas while lackluster in others. An obvious example of this is GT4. This is why I never bought into the graphical hype with the PS3.

Which games are better between the two consoles is subjective.
Here's an honest question you can ask yourself, if it was Sony instead of MS that announced the same, so called, "anti consumer" policies would you feel the same way about them as you do ...
Honestly, having a little more power does not equal better value. Also, Kinect adds a lot of cool functionality to the XB1 which truly sets it apart from the PS4, that's value. But according to you it's just a shameful unjustifiable $500 money grab, which is just an ignorant statement and makes you look like an asshole.
If you remember, the PS3 was $599 at launch, but in Canada it was actually $699 in some areas and you bitch about a $499 price tag?

The 360 has larger overall library of games than the PS3 due to releasing a year earlier, this is a fact. The few first party exclusives that the PS3 does have over the 360 is really nothing to brag about when we compare the same between the PS3 and the PS2.
Microsoft also spent 1 billion dollars on game development for the XB1 which should be obvious that their pretty serious about games. The XB1 current lineup of games also look more promising than Sony's.
