Did you hang around the PlayStation forums back then? I did, and I can tell you that many people went through 3-4 refurbs. I suspect that drsfinest72 could be exaggerating with 7 but still, multiple PS3 failures were not uncommon.
The problem is, Sony shit on their customers by refusing to take responsibility and people had to pay out of pocket because of the YLoD after Sony's 1 year warranty. Refurb PS3's had very bad reliability and were only under a 3 month warrant...

1) I'm guessing you never played the 360 version of Mass Effect because if you did you would realize that Kinect has more potential than that.
2) You can instantly capture screen shots on the Xb1 as well. Both systems can record as much gameplay as the user wants and both automatically record at the end of a game. The difference between the two is that the PS4 records the last 15 minutes while the Xb1 will record the last 5 minutes; so what.

The PS3 had little issues even though it sold at $100 more than Xb1. "Bu bu bu.. Blu-Ray!" I've had my PS3 for over 3 years and never watched a Blu-Ray movie in it. Most of my friends have never used it either; but we will use the 1080p camera with the Xb1!
MS invested the same amount of money in Kinect as they did with the XB1. Kinect is an essential part of the Xb1 experience MS has said this before. No Kniect = no developer support = huge waist of money. No Kinect devalues the system greatly.
