X1 fans need to stop this desperate fanboy acts. They are just making laughing stock of themselves.

Software can be improved on both side. DX12 is mostly for PC anyways, but even if there was some new thing on DX12, it does not take long to get ported to OpenGL.

Then, all it really comes down to is hardware. We all know the power differences there, but fans are just desperate to distract themselves away from the painful truth with farytales.

It depends how you define capable.

X1 is capable of 1080P 60fps if it sacrifices lightings, textures, AA, effects and etc.

X1 must make tremendous sacrifices to make that 1080P happen.

Pedro you are right. Thats a thing about software.

If it is really efficient, it just gets ported to other hardwares too.

In the end, both X1 and PS4 has just as efficient programs and it will come down to hardware.It sounds like Sony already has something similar anyways from ND dev comment anyways.

It is just some desperate wish anyways that fanboys were hoping too much for secret sauces. Sorry but this wont close power gap between hardware...

That is 900P vs 1080P X1 vs PS4 on Assassins Creed.

As you can imagine, 720P to 1080P is even bigger. Gaps will only get bigger if devs spend more time extracting extra power from hardwares.

How will exclusives "comparable" the power gap is so much bigger compared to last ge...

@Dewitt Clearly you do not understand "low level API" is.

Low level API or MS calls their "very close to metal" programing, already allows mutithreading and access to it.

It must be one hell of a desperate argument to try to say that Xbox One has been using mostly 1 CPU core until now.

The slide it was on was for specifically for PC. Not xbox.

Even the examples used were PC CPUs. This issue has been on PC for long time like it only uses 2 CPU core out of 4 you have.... Dx12 fixes it for PC. This issue never existed for Xbox one. Dx12 is not improving CPU at all for CPU.

This is just another desperate secret sauce.

Just to be clear.

Xbox One can ALREADY "Code to Metal". So in reality, besides of easy porting, it offers no advantage, no change in gap size.

You still are limited by hardware. No power lock. No new special processing.

Just better access to hardware for programmer. Good for PC. For consoles, they had that already for looooong time.

Mostly beneficial to PC.

Offering lower level API is not going to close the gap between PS4 and X1.

What is on X1 software wise gets ported or PS4 gets similar version of it.

MS has currently weakest game studios line up. Out of Sony, Nintendo and MS, MS had always lower game studios. However, MS's studio is even more weaker than last gen.

You are still extremely limited by hardware.

PS4 will get optimized by OpenGL being updated with ports from DX12.

So call gap reducing will never happen as long as hardware gap stays just as wide

This is Cloud Rendering which is what Onlive and Gaikai(PS Now) is.

What MS giving X1 is NOT same as those. It is not Cloud rendering. What MS is doing is just dedicated servers basically.

So no. It is technically not really powered by cloud. If that is the case, every game out there is powered by cloud.
