Personally I'm excited to see how they go about it. This is def. a game series that could work as a MMORPG, because of how the games mechanics have been worked out in the Grandia games.
The only game I'm actually still wondering hasn't gone the MMORPG road is Suikoden RPG series. If any game series would be suited perfect for it it's that and Konami needs to get on it. :)
Yeah you and me got slammed with disagrees, because we KNOW that Qore is not the only way to get the damn beta, and by no means is the BEST option for EVERYONE either. I'd much rather get inFAMOUS for 60 bucks and the beta, then a year of Qore considering not every month is it good. It's probably 6 months of good with 6 months of lame.

Yeah I am from USA, but I DLeded the UK stores infamous and redfaction MP demos as I don't like waiting for good things if I don't have to. :)
Either way the Red Faction MP demo doesn't work for my PS3. It tries to connection to 20 different possible games, fails on each, then makes me a host of a game, no one joins that, and then goes back into the 20 games loop.
Looking like a good start if you can't even get the MP demo to work I say. :D

This game looks about as good as the Onichambra Bikini Warriors or w/e the crap that -10/10 game was. That game was so bad it should give ME points and money for its time lol.
Seriously sex doesn't sell if done in a dumb manner. Take Metal Gear Online for example. You can make a guy or girl character in that, and that's the only game I've ever made a girl character in over a guy. Why? They get some better looking duds, better things to say to teams with the Codec, smaller target ...

1) Any big MP games announced on any system---ask about dedicated servers. Pass word around that dedicated servers are a must now. I especially want you to do this with Naughty Dog for Uncharted 2. Wear a T-shirt saying"Dedicated servers = Megan Fox. Peer to Peer host = Rosie O' Donnel"
2) Score some interviews with the games we know...
Option 1 for PS3.
Option 2 for 360.
Option 2 as bestest.

Seriously though the 360 dumb dumbs aren't getting this clearly through. 50GB for blu-ray discs is right NOW the most one needs to really make use of the awesome tech within the PS3 to the bestest you can. 12terrabytes is pointless, because to fill that and make it work you not only need the disc filled with data---you need hardware to make it shine along with it.

If I was in charge of Nintendo I would just release a new console in 2010 with better specs than both PS3 and 360. They've already made enough bank off of the Wii that now they can afford to have the best console on the market in technical capabilities too.
The Wii could become like the PS2 for them, but the new Nintendo being a showcase of why Nintendo used to push forward in hardware specs instead of stopping dead in its tracks this generation.

As far as competition goes Sam Fisher has to take on Old Snake, because MGS4's stealth action this generation is through the roof. I still play the online everyday, but I'm still open to the new Sam Fisher game taking the crown from MGS4 in both SP and MP aspect.
Graphics of course will be impossible to beat, but if the presentation, dialogue, story, controls, options, and online can do more than MGS4 did then it can at the very least tie it in epicness.

I'm right there with you when you say you want to see why people are hyped over this game. For me, I hated Indigo Prophecy, both the gameplay and the story were 100% fails in my book. How is a game fun when you ONLY do 3 things for a total of 8 hours straight? Simon says, L and R trigger pulls, and hitting the right stick in directions. That's all you did.
From the 2008 gameplay trailer it looks like it's the same with a new coat of paint. Just quick time events and I'm guessing ...

360 fanboys must be going nuts lately thinking it's going to be a MGS game on 360, since after a while every MGS game goes to another game console. However:
EVERYTIME A MGS GAME GOES TO A DIFFERENT CONSOLE IT WAS ONE WITH BETTER SPECS THAN THE FIRST ONE USED!
So since the 360 is far less capable, and the only thing more powerful at the moment than a PS3 is a computer the only MGS4: S something you'd see crazy kids would be a PC version lol.

As long as Heavy Rain doesn't play like Indigo I'll probably get excited for it. In general though I'm excited for the media buzz happening for gaming right now. Hopefully this weeks GameTrailers has some good stuff for Heavy Rain to get people blown away.

At the end of the GDC keynote he did the last picture had the captions:
NEXT METAL GEAR PROJECT or something like that, but NEXT was in it. It had that mini picture of Raiden, and on April fools day you got to see Campbell in Raiden's outfit from MGS4 kicking butt.
Honestly I'll be MORE surprised if tomorrow he announces something that isn't a Metal Gear game starring Raiden. Either way it'll be a day 1 purchase from me. Kojima = can have my bank account. :)
I should also mention this game is a solid 8.5-9.5 depending on how much of a RPG enthusiast you are. The 8.5 being if RPGs aren't your thing, and 9.5 to the die hard. It's really a good game to enjoy if you own a PS3. It's mature, bloody, and this game more than any other this generation oozes atmosphere left and right. It's creepy, dark, and you get a feeling of dread and doom wherever you tread.
Lol time to go play more of it. Still haven't beaten it. :(

You know when I like violence in my games? When it fits the scenario and the the characters involvement in it in a sound manner.
When do I like sex in my games? Same thing as above.
Mindless hacking and slashing or mindless bimbo squads does not make a game any more enjoyable in any way shape or form.
