I thought Cliff was on to something with Gears of War 1, but Gears of War 2 proves he doesn't get how to make a game that works. He didn't beta test it, he didn't shell out for dedicated servers(even though a game like Left 4 Dead on Xbox 360 has it), and he didn't fix any of the bugs from Gears of War 1 + he let slide an onslaught of new ones.
As a game developer you are supposed to learn from your past mistakes not leave them be then scoop up a handful more to ruin your games ...
Idk if I can hold out until Tokyo Game Show for more confirmation on Sony's plans about this PS2 backwards compatability on all PS3s or not. August I plan to get a PS2 used with a ton of games I missed out on from PS2 that I really want to play, but if it was in September that Sony were to announce this all PS3 to PS2 compatability I could wait the extra month to save the cash. :)
When is this going to happen? I want an official statement from Sony ASAP! I was planning to buy back a PS2 and a buncha games I missed out on this August along with a new PSP Dissidia Bundle.
I need to know if I can save the money, but really if it won't be till later in the year I'll drop the money in August lol. I can't wait much longer to try out Persona 4. Giantbomb endurance runs are making me so antsy to play day by day. :(
If they were smart they would release a trophy patch planned for the game like a month or two later after the game. By then the main people who wanted to play it will have done so and the story aspects won't be shockers.

Before you say,"Wii circle jerk sold way more," let me remind you I said that BlazBlue is a GAME where Resort isn't. Spin it all you want and however you like, Resort isn't the reason a gamer spends way into the late hours making awesome memories of fun.
The vids of the game up on gametrailers have me left with this being a game I won't invest any time into and not even at rental. It just doesn't seem to be my thing, even though my RPG love is long and I even enjoy a few anime.

BlazBlue managed to take KoF12 from a buy to a rent for me now. :(
I think if KoF12 had also included a real story mode that is 30hrs long as BlazBlue's is I would have kept to my KoF reserve, but you can't really argue a 9.4/10 from IGN if you like the site like I do.
I am still excited to play this game though in July. Going to Terry Bogard some people silly. :D
I heard about this a week or two back and I facepalmed hard. As if people thinking achivements/trophies make you "important" or "good at videogames", NOW there is a new form of loser that takes it a step forward to cheat this fake Epene #.
If you or anyone you know is doing this I highly suggest the ultimate solution---kill yourself.
The only reason I'd want to see it go is if they could pull off full Playstation Home integration. By that I mean the second you turn your PS3 on you are auto logged onto Home and automatically where you last left yourself. Then through Home, all of the XMB options available now could be run through it, and your old themes and wallpapers could be used in your house as a wallpaper.
That's where Home would finally shine and where your virtual self would feel somewhat important sinc...

I was sold on this game once I saw it in action for the online portion on justin.tv a few days back. I was going to get KoF12, but BlazBlue took the spot for my fighter this year. I'll prolly give KoF12 a rent though as I want to make sure I made the right decision. :)

FINALLY! My want for a Suikoden 6 has been insane. That Suikoden Tiekrisis(however ya spell that load of BS) for the DS was a dissapointment. They took out the runes in that and set it in an alternate universe. They could've just labeled it something else honestly, because Suikoden without runes isnt Suikoden.
I hope it's for PS3 and 360. As much as I favor games being on the PS3 so that they can reach new heights technically I have a friend who loves this series to death as much...
The online portion to BlazBlue is the best so far for any fighting game to this point and date. There's an interview over at 1up.com with one of the game devs who gives it to you with no fancy words or BS how the online kicks so much a$$! Oh to add, the past few days I've been watching a guy on justin.tv play this game live on his stream(HD capture too oh boy), and the online has no hitches. It's the smoothest net code holy crap!

I got duped by this yesterday at Gametrailers. The comment track on the vid over there is similar to the one here, except more people are upset that they were tricked with no bazongas in the video.

Based off of that teaser site and what's on it right now it won't be a new IP. The number 4 dictates that. I guess it's either a clock to the next installment of FF4: The After Years OR A Dragon Warrior/Quest remake for DS.
That's about all it could be from the #4 sitting there, since other SquareEnix franchises generally haven't even hit a #3 in the series or are way past it.
What's missing?
1) Dedicated servers
2) Character customization in appearance(Rainbow Six style or Metal Gear online style)
3) Non useless perks
4) More gun customizations
5) Maps in multiplayer that are a lot like the cool parts of SP. (Imagine a blizzard level where everyones gun has that blue dot panel strapped next to it so you can seek out heat sources)
6) More clan or tournament support. They should do something like Metal Gear online, where ev...
FF7 really should be on the list. Not because it is my favorite FF(9 is for me), but because it paved the road for 3D RPGs with amazing stories, characters, music, and all around fun. It ushered in a ton of sales for a console and to this day is still talked about for a possible remake to wet nerd boys appetites.
I personally would like to see all the Metal Gear games on that list. They all are really worth your time.

I really feel the best fighting game of 2009 will be between BlazBlue and King of Fighters 12. I'm currently playing the crap out of BlazBlue and this game is A M A Z I N G!
