Same here, Id rather wait for full details before jumping to conclusions, cause this doesnt seem like emulation or backwards compatibilty
@Kayant
Actually we dont have any details about BC or an emulator for the PS4. The only details given to us where a very small amount of titles that have been uprezzed with 1080p, can be streamed, shareplayed and have new trophy support, this is not BC. It is just PS2 classics being supported for the PS4
PS2 BC on t...
Do the US get the game a day earlier? thought it released on the 10th
Anyway am skeptical about getting this at it is my first anticipated Fallout, probably wait till christmas
Nope, apart from both being third person shooters, they are nothing similar
@XIKurapikaKurta
The Order 1886 was actually close or even better in terms of gunplay compared to Gears, this was just overshadowed by the underwhelming reviews of the game
He is right on most things (Infact everything) because he actually works at playstation, he is not just an insider and I believe Verendus is still well live and active on Neogaf right now
We all know where yarbie1000 stands in this console war thing, he has no clue just wanted to be salty
Thats one way to cut down on your game sales
@Gangsta Red
Of course The Order got billboards, Its budget was bigger, it has lots of guns (which usually helps a game) and it pushed new generation graphics which allows you to gain audience.
You cant compare that to Until Dawn
And I have never seen people care so much about the marketing of a game at the end of the day it worked out for Supermassive and Sony, isnt that what should really matter??
@Septic
My mistake, I meant it was a financial success, but if I remember reviews also changed for Drive club after a while so it also got so many good reviews after its bad launch.
And Blood Borne got pushed a lot, Many ads over here in Ireland especially for its launch trailer, it also had a gameplay trailer after that before its launch trailer, big ads of Blood borne in Gamestops here. Youtube videos had ads of Bloodborne before the actual video. Sony allo...
@WillamUsher and GameDev1
I see you guys havent played or even know about Until Dawn butterfly effect
Until Dawn definitely had interactive gameplay like Heavenly Souls, Beyond, Tell tale games but again its butterfly effect did not just affect the paths you took or the way the story moved but also your relationship with the characters which would move the story, there was also collectibles(totems) which changed the story also, this is definitely NOT like oth...
There are many interactives like Until Dawn but none of them were under the purely comedy type horror genre and none of them had the butterfly effect branching paths Until Dawn had, so it was a very different game to those ones so you can see why it was hard for Sony to see a mass audience taking to it
Until Dawn isnt really like other interactive genres, has more complex mechanics
Nope Blood Borne definitely did not get the least push from Sony at all, you are very wrong there.
Sony and Yoshida had much confidence in Blood Borne and From software and marketed a lot that you wouldnt go to any game forum without seeing talk about Blood borne, it had so many tv adverts in Europe and on Youtube, OPM and Edge magazine covers
Until Dawn is a totally different very new genre to what Bloodborne is
And even with Driveclub nega...
Because PSX is more of a celebration of the Playstation brand than a conference for the media compared to E3 and Gamescom.
Sony can control PSX with the game output possibly being about everything announced during the year. But with E3 and Gamescom there is more reference with getting out games that look quality and the quantity of games for media scrutiny, which means they have to get their first, second and third party studios more ready for these type of conferences
Well it is certainly something if there are missions, environments, animations and more like you said. But a playable state is definitely progress but it certainly doesnt mean nothing.
Playable state could be from early prototype to Alpha progress which means a lot for Shenmue 3 considering we didnt know anything about it months ago
I believe they said they will show more new stuff at PGW but they have been on the project for about 3 to 4 years now
@HaydenJameSmith
"Yeah but the first few years of that game was probably design, concepts, storyboards and they were working on Shadow Fall for PS4 launch before that"
Yeah...... Thats not how game development works or should work for a AAA company, if you do concept and story boards for a few years then you are wast...
@RookieMonster
The link you posted didnt include anything apart from a neogaf thread about this announcement and only Sony first party studios use their own dedicated servers
Rocket league, Final Fantasy XIV, Street Fighter V to name a few are cross platform with PC, wont be hard for World of Tanks to follow suit
Yes it is, MS/Sony/Nintendo are all doomed
All those mobile ports and clone games for Apple TV will make it sells millions :P
OR, YouPorn is a great porn website and the PS4 has a fast web browser with smooth typing
The article should have factored that in, lol
But tbh between mutiplats and exclusives, I am overwhelmed by the games on the PS4
I have still yet to finish 4 open world games and a horror exclusive plus TLOU multiplayer keeping me busy
The stats in this article like other numerous ones has no link or evidence to the whatever survey being...
Sony actually has a pre TGS conference so earlier than TGS, I assume yarbie is trying to say they wont have a conference
@sureshot
"Spoilers?? You think restricting sharing is going to stop spoilers as a whole? No."
Then what is the point of your argument if you know Sony has only minorly stopped spoiliers of the game. It does mean people can find other ways to share the game with the PS4
Actually it should be up to Sony to stop spoilers of BROKEN STREET GAMES as this cant actually good for their own software copyright sales wise and BROKEN STREET GAMES are ac...
You dont know what DRM is do you?
Objective of shareplay or streaming is mainly the consoles function not the software so no it is not DRM
And when the game has broken its street date and you have it certain functions will have to be restricted
Plus this is an extremely minor way to stop spoliers on the PS4
Exactly this is the point I was trying to make in the other article
This is not in any technical way backwards compatibility, it comes with higher resolution, new trophy support from the publishers and PS4 support like shareplay, this was not possible with PS2 games. This is more like a port of PS2 classics and Sony cant do this to all PS2 games on PS4
So if there is no emulator, I just want Sony to explain how it works and why they are charging for this so ...
