I wonder if it's more a case of a market having to be earned through hardwork and innovation instead of a ready made audience like they had with the windows OS line. It's becoming clear that the corporate mindset at MS is not one of doing what it takes to win but more of doing what it takes to make the other guy lose. They went up against Sony in their own backyard (hardware) and got their clocks cleaned. Nice try MS, maybe you should stick to trying to be a good software company first.
I WILL SAY IT ONCE MORE, Microsoft is planning to leave the console industry. Think of internal studios like divisions inside a gaming company. Any company for that matter that see's that much downsizing going would have present employees headed for the door aswell.
SOmething struck a nerve in me with the way Peter Moore suddenly up and left at the height of the console war. HE obviously saw the writing on the wall much sooner than most at MS.
