You're confusing sold to retail with sold to consumers. NPD tracks the latter.

Good job Microsoft. Making a profit these days is a huge deal. To do so convincingly is an even bigger one.
To think they lost a billion during RROD but still managed an overall profit with the 360 is an amazing feat deserving of recognition. I tip my hat to thee fine sir. . .

8 year old console. Your point?

4600d ago 2 agree4 disagreeView comment

Indeed! A brilliant Master Plan that cost them 1 billion dollars. -____- I may not know much about conspiracy theories and how not to be tricked by "The Man" but you'd have to be a loon to believe that they used RROD to inflate their numbers! To what end if the financial statements don't match up with the number of shipped/bought consoles?

Look at me being a moron trying to have a rational conversation with a conspiracy theorist.

The fact that it has sold out in most retailers isn't impressive either?
The simple fact that it is selling at all should amaze you since most detracted thought it wouldn't sell at all for $500.
Just goes to show; the real world =/= interwebz/n4g

Thank you. I love the Xbox brand. It is my favourite gaming brand at the moment but I do want to see improvements.
At the same time I cannot help but be compelled by the games to buy an Xbox One.
As a lover of games, I can't not have Forza 5 or Project Spark or Quantum Break. I just can't. So future worries be damned because right now, The One has got the games I want.

Back on topic, well done Microsoft and Xbox, I hope you continue to strive with...

^^What does Sony or Playstation have to do with this article/discussion?

I didn't mean to cause any trouble. I was just indicating that despite xbox having less exclusives than ps3, it because very successful and any good company will want to stick with a successful business model.

I was simply putting up my own experience as an example of why I don't believe MS have learned from the backlash from the hardcore gamers because even though I myself b...

I'll always be the first to admit, MS won the games battle at E3, no question about it and the X ONE is my console of choice at launch because of the games they showed. However history is a good indicator of future behaviour. The 360 also started out with exclusives and core support from MS.
I had come from owning a PS2 when I upgraded to a 360 because the PS3 was not financially viable for me at the time. The games MS released took the sting out of not being able to own a ps3 a...

I disagree. That backlash came from hardcore gamers and unfortunately didn't have any financial consequences which we all know is the language of all big companies.
The backlash was there and it was very justified but too few people actually did anything about it that would impact MS in such a way that they'd change their stance. I myself got sick of it and bought myself a ps3 last year when I got tired of waiting for core exclusives on par with SONY's offerings.

I wish they'd give us more core exclusives but their successes without exclusives for the X360 isn't much motivation now is it?

Still, well done. I've thoroughly enjoyed this generation having owned and played a hundred games and with more still to come in the form of Project Spark and the games with gold program I can honestly say my Xbox 360 has served me well.

Good job Microsoft, but there's plenty of room for improvement.

I agree the story is pretty weak and I cannot fault you on your criticism of it. I just wanted to correct an error in your conclusion about the title and the story.
Otherwise I agree with most of your review, especially about the soundtrack, it is FANTASTIC! I found the gameplay enjoyable as well. It is my favorite platformer of all time.

Forza 5. Dead Rising 3. Killer Instinct. And Ryse! I have not found any source that says it has been pushed further.
That is a pretty sweet exclusive launch line up.
KZ and DriveClub look pretty good to me but Knack and Playroom? Don't make me laugh.

I mean Mark Cerny said it himself that Knack was a small title and Playroom isn't even a proper game and you need to buy the camera to enjoy it.
This of course is just my opinion and you are ...

I take it you've never heard of autovista which is already available on Forza 4.
And now it's going to be expanded with Forza 5 with Forza Vista where full car exploration, including engine and commentary from Top Gear hosts, to ALL the cars.

People are so touchy about Playstation. Also, what do PS3 owners that buy tales have to do with the Vita?
You people need to realise that the rest of the world isn't divided into playstation, xbox or nintendo camps. Just because someone disses the vita doesn't mean that the ps3 fanbase is going to be mad as well just because they are both SONY products.

Why are people so emotionally attached to a freaking piece of plastic and circuitry? I mean wanting a guy...

If the Xbox One allows the use of an external harddrive in tandem with the internal 500 gig then I see no problem.
Obviously you will not be able to play a game off one hard drive while accessing DLC or even music on the other but as long as upgrading doesn't mean having to transfer all data from the internal then I say it's a big win for the consumer.

Origins in the title pertains to the gameplay, not the story.
Origins features 2D sidescrolling like the original Rayman back in 1995 as opposed to Rayman 2, 3 and the Rabbids.
It was their way of saying "we are going back to basics" and it worked beautifully.
The are also a couple of throwbacks to the original Rayman in there like Moskito, Livingstones (hunters), Betilla the fairy and the Magician.
