Druckmann on "whether they like it or not–that’s fair…that’s their reaction and you don’t fight that"
but you actually did. you and Sony argued with media critics.
"When you get to the second half of the game, it's so sad that you're meeting these people (and these dogs) that you've already killed"
It's impossible to feel guilt when those events like many in the game were forced. my only reaction is WTF just happened.
This happend over and over, it's a big reason critics weren't sold on the story.
Druckmann: "The way that they've(critics) dehumanised Abby...
the worse part is we can't believe any character.
Ellie could have realized that at the farm. ending it there would have made more sense. sad ending to a sad story but we can get it. instead she goes in another murder spree just to change her mind at the last moment. those final moments felt forced. every turning point in the game felt forced. the script fails in selling the tragedy.
there is no point. that's the actual theme of the game.
"had no issues with the story or the delivery. My only issue was the pacing and length"
dude that's literally and issue with the story.
Thanos is merely a copy of Darkside but because DC and WB are inept Thanos became the more popular in pop culture.
to be fair it was mentioned that Abby's regime dose run a salmon farming operation. so protein is available.
constructive criticism is positive energy. It's the game itself that is full of negative energy. it was deliberately made to be negative. so a negative reaction is actually the normal response.
and most gamers are disappointed not angry.
can't stop shaking my head because of the headline. Just because this is the 1st time you come across a theme doesn't make it "groundbreaking".
Sony themselves had a PS2 RPG called Arc the Lad where you switch between 2 groups who consider the other side as enemies.
In Anime Baslisk is a violent one season show that did this theme more brutally as the story switches between 2 clans that try to wipe each other out. it was even more comple...
"You said it will get bad reviews ??..You said "Go Woke Go Broke"??...You said gamers will hate it ??"
I didn't say any of those things, go argue with those that did.
"telling ppl why they should hate it"
I'm talking about why "I" think it's bad. Not why anyone else should. I do hope that ND would look to my comments and others like it as constructive criticism and wake up from their h...
Druckerman was trying to be cute and copy someone like Neil Gaiman. most of the game feels like a nerd trying to copy his idols. copying Kojima with marketing and R.R. Martin with the random deaths. the them of spiral of violence because of vengeance is done amateurishly compare to other stories about the subject, even a kids Anime show like Naruto did it much better.
Few realize how unique the original Legacy of kain is.
I ignored the hate and pre-ordered the game the day the spoilers broke out. I regret that.
Even though the event at the start of the game was shocking. it was the second half that broke the story. this is what every critic is talking about. and those who defend the game can't respond to this point so they change the subject and hurl accusations.
A word for the defenders of this game. don't make this personal. Most critics were and some are still...
play more games.
There are much better games at telling stories, even indie games like Oxenfree and especially Inside as it dose that without dialogue.
As for Last of US 2 it will be remembered for how bad it was and a cautionary tale.
I wan't to unplay this game. that is what I want. and most who played it feel that way.
@shepherdzeMan
well said
Numbers hype is an MS tactic.
Actual technical experts said PS4 SSD+IO speeds are specifically needed to achieve a new system of streaming assets continuously.
MS should stop disrespecting the intelligence of gamers. quite a few of use know a bit about games technically.
Remember years ago someone posted about this in relation to Uncharted 2 or 3. It was just another lame internet talking point like millions of other stupid stuff. But ND got obsessed with the concept and it ruined them trying to create something that matches gameplay with story.
A story only works if you get the audience to go along. TLOU2 failed to do that and it killed the franchise and destroyed the reputation of ND as an excellence studio.
@Redemption-64
"Who is US"
those who weren't sold by Abbys arc.so if you like her that precludes you from the argument.
and the sample size for the user reviews is incredibly big. and they are very negative. you can't wish them away. stop the denial.
