For an early release they could do something unexpected like making the software standard 2 way compatible between the new consol and the Wii. Like how pc games can play in deferent resolutions. The way to do this is not make many changes to the hardware. This way they can build upon the Wii install base instead of having to start from scratch.
Then again the new consol may have a new gimmick that they want to capitalize on before somebody beats them to the punch.
Agree, they have a lot of hardcore games coming in the coming year, maybe as much as released since launch.

MW2 was the only game in town last year, Battlefield came out later and converted a lot of players, those(like me) will be looking forward to MOH, it won't outsell BO but will take 2-3 million of its overall sales.
The big cut will because of Halo Reach, FPS hype starts with the 360 and nothing will overhype Reach, it will take 4-6 million of BO overall sales.
It's not like I'm saying it will flop, but compared to the consol sales of 20m for MW2,...

There is no way, it won't even be close, hers why:
- 360 owners will be besy with Halo Reach
- Pre orders show PS3 owners more exited for MOH
- Reach will release 2 months ahead of BO, and MOH will be a month ahead
- Holiday gift buyers will be distracted by Kenect and Move
- A lot of MW2 buyers played the game for the hype, some will come back, some wont
- BO will charge for online premium, which will turn many away
