the true current gen games are huge, the quantity of details, textures, sound, music and code makes impossible for a last gen storage methods to contain such quantities of data.
FFXIII will have tons of 1080p videos, high res textures, music, scripts and codes and will need a high capacity BD, that would make a ridiculous amount of dvd-9 for a 360 version, and for the japanese public to see a bunch of disks just for a game is a no-no, with MGS4 we are watching how the 360 version of FFXIII is simply gone.
