Always this dumb argument. Indiana Jones and Tomb Raider killed people, too. Do you see them weeping after every expedition? Nathan Drake has no fucking choice. It's kill or be killed. And he isn't exactly killing some nice and innocent people. They are militia goons and mercenaries. Ironically, the second one is Ellie going out of her way to kill people 'as revenge.'
Dying Light deserves a mention. The game came out of nowhere and became a massive hit in a fairly oversaturated market and theme.
I wouldn't include The Division or Watch_Dogs in a 'Best New IPs of the Generation' list. They had the potential to be something much bigger than what Ubisoft delivered.
Strictly speaking about Microsoft and Xbox only, would you rather a local 'asset-streaming' that's guaranteed in quality or a spotty 'cloud-based streaming' that changes visuals depending on the mood of your ISP? (Genuine question.)
Are they really that incapable of making characters that look good or original? All the characters look randomly generated by a character customiser. I refuse to believe that the studio behind Tomb Raider reboot doesn't have enough artistic talent to create characters that look good without being fan-service, generic or over-the-top.
