Most likely because the Wii's games were not as good as the PS3 or 360 games. Simple reason but true, Brawl was the only good thing out this year for Wii, but there was a mountain load out for PS3 and 360 if you count the exclusives alone.

Good to see LBP finally doing well, it completely deserves to sell millions. And yeah it is definitely because Sony advertised this game, more than any other game so far.

You are a complete fanboy if you can't see that Sony had the better lineup for this year, and what looks to be the better lineup next year. The 360 really only had Gears 2 and Fable 2, which were good, but these cannot compare to MGS4, LBP, R2, Motorstorm 2, Wipeout HD (which is a downloadable game, and it's THAT good), Valkyria Chronicles.

@GiantEnemyCrab - You can replace the battery in the PS3 controller, it's just a lot harder than the 360 controller. On the other hand it doesn't die as quickly (as in amount of times it's charged NOT how long the charge lasts) as the 360 play & charge kit. Also who wants to always have to take the batteries out of the controller and charge them separately?

@Dannagar - Yeah this article is pretty biased and over exaggerated, but what the message is is true. The 360 will end up costing more in the long when you buy all the peripherals. And also this doesn't include the cost of play & charge kits (which I think are $25 each).
Also a HDMI cable only costs like $5-10 max, unless you're stupid and go and buy an insanely expensive one.
Sorry guys, I was just arguing that the Wii is not a next gen (well current gen now) machine. The technology in it is almost 10 years old. Also PS2 had 233MHz processor, I wasn't arguing with that fact, it is clear that the Wii is more powerful than the PS2, seen as the Gamecube was more powerful than a PS2.
Reason I didn't mention the PS2 is that it is now irrelevant technologically speaking, as is Xbox 1, yet the Wii is only as powerful as an Xbox 1 or maybe a little more power...

I knew it would win, you could tell from the views of the game reviewers. They are possibly the only people that though this game was amazing, whereas the normal gamers thought it was sh*t.
ANY other game in the nomination deserved the titles more than GTA4, I just can't help but think that this game got the GOTY because of the immense hype (that mainly MS created).
Didn't Sony make a profit for the last 2 quarters (that we know of). Anyways I think David Reeves doesn't "know" because he keeps leaking info, so the Sony president probably told him to STFU and deny everything in interviews.
