This is an extremely unprofessional article, it seems like the guy got annoyed that Sony said something bad about MS, which imo is true (and I have a 360). Sony didn't even include extra costs like, Play & Charge Kits (which cost ~$25, so if you have 2 controllers it would be $50, although you can just get a battery for ~$15 for one).

If a game sells badly it is considered a failure in the eyes of fanboys and the gaming media. And what they usually attribute to selling well is comparing the game to Halo 3 sales. As long as a game pushes boundaries and is striving for something new, the game is not a failure in my eyes.

Most (if not all) PS3 games are region free, but it is up to the devs (I think DefJam isn't region free, but I'm not sure). Blu-Ray movies are not region free, but Japan and US have he same region code, meaning Japanese Blu-Ray will work on US machines, but not on EU machines and vice-versa.
